To case or not to case?
    #23893155 - 12/04/16 08:38 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

So I searched the forums and found that cubensis don't need casing layer but then I found a few TC who like to case their cubensis grows. So I would like to ask those who case, what are their reasons and the benefits they find in casing.
Do you case cubensis in monotub?
You may choose only one

No STAL? I do both, depending on my mood. Always good to try everything, no?

Cubes don't need a casing but they can benefit from it.

So pretty much wait till 100% colonization/first signs of pinning and then put a 1/2 inch layer of field capacity verm/coir mix??

That is called late casing.

If you case as soon as its colonised it called casing or just fruit as soon as you are 100 colonised with no casing.

If you search late casing you will find a thread from Fahtster  or Frank that explains it really well

No casing.
Just a thin top layer to cover any exposed grains after its all mixed up.

Never seen any reason to case bulk tubs, unless you're growing PE... Cubes are like weeds they don't give a fuck.

True. Moral is don't pigeonhole yourself into just one thing. Try lots and see what works for you.
