Adjustment disorder from shrooms?

Hey, I low-dosed on shrooms with 0.8 grams like one month before and while it was not a full-blown trip, it was very uncomfortable. Since then I am feeling rather anxious and nervous about getting mentally ill or having become mentally ill. I went to a psychiatrist and he gave me diagnosis of adjustment disorder. For those who don't know, adjustment disorder is a phase of several months after a traumatic event in which you try to adjust to the new life circumstances which can be accompanied by depression, anxiety and other negative psychological symptoms. Logically it makes sense, but 1.) I did some research and never found significant hints for correlations between drugs and adjustment disorder (only loss of family member, accident, loss of a job and stuff like that) 2.) the psycho-active aspect of shrooms just makes me generally question the essence of my symptoms, like it just seems to be a rather unpredictable substance.
So I am quite sure that I did not get any psychosis or something like that, but I can not decide if it is an adjustment disorder or a generalized anxiety disorder which got triggered by the shrooms. When I read through forums, I often read about people who feel anxious in the weeks and months after shrooms, but it fades away after a while. Adjustment disorder lasts to like six months, so this would make sense.
But who can I know if it is adjustment disorder or anxiety disorder without waiting for six months?

Doctors throw those diagnosis out very easily. Most times it's to bill insurance and prescribe poisonous drugs. Try to work with the shrooms more and communicate with the community here about your experiences. Also I would definitely dose higher. Good luck to you

Also, don't worry about attaching a title to your feelings man. The psychiatric system is the definition of crazy! In my opinion these titles of "diseases" are needed in order to keep you coming back and meds are almost always prescribed. Psychologists on the other hand are very helpful.

It doesn't matter if you have adjustment disorder or generalized anxiety. Either one could cause the other anyways. ( they are just diagnostic terms to describe and classify behavior , not anatomical/biological damages - so dont worry your pretty little head off your shoulders)
The way your worrying about this either one will do the same thing and cripple you in your daily life IF you let it ... I would suggest taking a gun and shooting the past in the head and burying it deep in the earth and forgetting about a stupid drug experience and moving on with your life ...without anymore drugs ok? hahah

Your just not a drug guy! Lesson learned, time to get on with life. Had a few friends just like you, they got better by simply staying sober and continuing to live. Best to ya!
