Paneolous Cyanescens - Substrate - White Spots
    #23891890 - 12/03/16 08:07 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Hi Shroomery,

I inoculated these trays on November 23rd, 2016.

The amount of CC's per tray was overdone with 6cc per tray, huge lapse in decision making...

The substrate is pasteurized cpoo mixed with BRF. They've been exposed to ambient light the entire colonization run.

Considering the amount of spore solution I've injected, are these white dots hyphal knots, mycelium or is it indeed a contamination of some sort, possibly the beginning stages of trich or a heavy yeast contam?

If better pictures are needed, let me know.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Here is an update.

After 8 days since posting the last pictures there has been no signs of green or other colors, however, those white spots are still present.

The total colonization run has been going since November 23rd, 2016 for a total of 19 days.

On some trays, the mycellium overtook the white spots.

Please see the pictures below for an assessment.

What's my play here?

Imo that looks straight up fucked with contaminations. When working with spores it's best to inoculate sterile agar, then take your clean agar and inoculate the spawn, then spawn it to a tray. Spraying spores into a substrate isn't the best way to get things done.. especially panaeolus which are notoriously dirty due to having no veils to protect the gills from contaminations when they're growing.

Here's some of my panaeolus trays:

This is what it should look like
