I live in Canada, and components tend to cost a little more I've found.

Yeah man it sucks, like even games now that used to be 60$ like AAA titles are always 80$.
I usually dont buy games anymore upon release though, far to many these days are BS upon release.
Can anyone confirm my Power Supply is ok to handle the 1080?
I duno if I'm thinking to far into this I mean the specs say 1080 needs 500W or greater, which my PSU is 860W so thats all good, however I read somewhere that Its important to note how many amps does it supply on the 12V rails. And I Cant find that info, or I don't understand it when I look at my PSU link. I don't know If Missing something here or what, I mean if I had to take the chance I'm pretty sure my PSU is fine I just wanna make sure though. I'll keep looking but if anyone knows off hand and could chime in that would be cool.

PSU has 71amps on the +12v rail, more than enough power for what you need. Seasonic also makes some of the highest quality PSUs on the market and that's a platinum rated top tier PSU. You're fine.

In fact with your PSU, you could even run 2x 1080s in SLI with no problem. The TDP (max power usage) of the 1080 is 180W. When it says requires 500W, that's just the total power requirements for the card in the average system, including everything else. But that's a waste, don't do that :P One card is fine

Ah interesting, Yeah I've considered running two cards before; but that was on the assumption that that would give me double the performance, and it seems that isnt the case, ever.
I think I'm gonna be quite happy with the 1080

the nice thing about buying the top end card now, is that it kinda "future proofs" yourself, making your card last longer till its "absolete".
Cant imagine the Titan X becoming obsolete, but with time, all tech does

Yeah no doubt hey? I mean I'm not rich, but I can definatly pay that card off in a month from now and I really was considering getting the 1070 which is a couple hundred less. I also don't see myself needing to upgrade from the 1080 anytime soon, so what the hell, may as well go ham and get it.

I dont normaly buy a lot of stuff, outside of food and video games occasionaly for myself. Books and coffee are normally my splurg purchases LOL
Not going to lie, I was hovering over the confirm order button for about 5 minutes before I clicked it LOL.

Yeah man, definatly would suck for sure. I'm holding onto my current card for awhile after; just incase it does arrive DEAD. I'm trying to make up my mind if I should sell the 770, or keep it for a spare

Keep the 770 as a spare.
Be aware of early adopter woes. A couple months from now... a better graphics card will come out. Don't be one of those guys getting all buyers remorse 3 months later just because something better comes out.. that's just the nature of the tech game. Be happy with the 1080 That thing is a fucking MONSTER. That thing will destroy games for years to come.
And yeah SLI is pretty much, a total waste unless you are pushing for like world record benchmarks scores and shit. For the average person it's a total waste of money. Back in the day with 8800GTX cards and shit, yeah it was awesome.. but it still had its issues. Micro-stuttering out the ass. 1080 is like 7 generations of cards later, thing is a fucking supercar already, the 8800GTX is like a pinto in comparison. With 2x cards in SLI, you MIGHT get around a 30-50% performance gain compared to a single card. Then with SLI you get diminishing returns, so add a 3rd card yields like a 20% gain, 4th card like 10%.. And then that's only in games that support SLI, which not all games do. i.e not worth it for the average person unless you are just swimming in money

yah, i saw specs on crossfire and the gains of crossfire were not double. More like 1.5x at best.
But it did make it more cost effective for mid-level gaming.
But for high end, might as well get a monster like the Titan X or the Ati FirePro S10000.

You're going to love the 1080! I just built my PC and got a EVGA 1080 FTW. Thing is awesome.
