Is there an easy way to pulverize coir into powder?

At the moment I break the pieces up with my hand and while it was all right the first couple times, I'm getting over it and was wondering if there's an easy way to make it into powder? Like a giant grinder that they use for weed? Or a blender? I have no idea.

Bricks? Just go with the grain with a flat screw driver or knife to peel off thin layers then they crumble right up.

I take a knife or flat tip screwdriver. Break the brick into two then use my hands. Takes under two three minutes to process one brick

I put the brick in a square bucket, like a laundry detergent pale, then put the brick against the side and slice thin pieces with a strong butcher knife or similar. Then I'll break it into small chunks with my hands.
I was doing this for the bottle tek so the coir was hydrated properly but if your doing the bucket tek no need, right?

Me as well. And I agree with the above, flat screwdriver or chefs knife with the grain. Dick

Yes, I break it up with a screw driver, but then I like to crumble the tiny pieces with my hands until they turn to powder all evenly. I was wondering if there's a way to make the crumbling process automatic so I don't have to use my fingers/hands.

buy a big machine that does it for more than the cost of everything you have dedicated to cultivation
I think coir would straight fuck up a blender after a while

Why do you want to turn it to powder?
I powdered it once in a ninja 900W blender, I wanted powder since I was adding to to grains which were overhydrated and I wanted to draw moisture out -so I wanted a small even covering.
But if using it normally I would not want it powdered. I use small amounts so pick bits off, you can hang a corner of the brick off the side of a table or counter and press down and it snaps off, then it comes off in layers. I have stood it upright and cut layers off, or prised them off with a butchers knife (cleaver)

Well, I'm doing the bottle tek and after I boil the grains I dump them into a bucket of coir and verm and the coir should be small pieces already and I just like them to be powder completely so it's evenly distributed.

I was doing the same thing for a bit but eventually found that just doing it the way of the tek is much easier.
I barely even break it up much with my hands now, just try to get as thin of slices as possible when slicing with the knife(or screwdriver or whatever) so they hydrate enough when you pour in the grains.
IDK but my oster and my old school vitamix wer just not able to blend them very well.
I was thinking of buying the loose shit before i realized I was better off just sticking to the tek.
When you are mixing with your hands after it has cooled some try to break up any chunks then as the will be slightly hydrated and easy to break up.

Easiest and Quickest way...

Ive tried the screwdriver, but some of the coir can be so hard, that a hammer will be required with your screwdriver. Eventually hitting the screwdriver with the hammer will lead to coir pieces scattering all over.
Lay down a garbage bag on the floor, take you a small handsaw, and you should be able to saw it apart in a minute. Then take the broken chunks and you should be able to crumble them with your hands.

I have tried many ways including power saws but a nice sharp pointed butcher knife is my preferred weapon of choice. To each their own.

I know it's not what OP asked, but on the topic of splitting coir bricks, I also use a flathead screwdriver, with a hammer to drive it in. To not make a mess, I put the coir in my bucket first and split it in that. I don't really see a need to split it more than 2-3 times anyway. I often find small to medium sized clumps of coir when I spawn, but they are easy to crumble with my hands as I spawn it. Mix them in, no big deal.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just making bulk for a tub, I'll just toss it in some water. For things like bottles, I split it and crumble by hand. It only takes a minute or two.

How long does it take to fully hydrate, and fall apart when you do this?
Do you toss a brick in a bucket of water and then squeeze out the excess; or do your pour the recommended 4 quarts of water?
Am always looking for an easier/ quicker ways to do things on here.
