Fruiting conditions?
    #23891660 - 12/03/16 06:57 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Ok so i just had my monotub colonized to 100% about 3 days ago. I took off duct tape stuff holes with poly bottom tight and top loose. It currently has a humidity of 90% and a constant temp of 72. I guess what I'm asking is there any other factors I need to consider to get pinning going and I'm I being impatient thinking it needs be soon? Also have fan running aim abovə and 6 500k light on 12/12 cycle.

One more question is it true you can deal with contamination with peroxide and water solution if they do appear in monotub?

From my reading, no.
I would wait to double check with a TC.

Nah, avoid peroxide. If something is growing in your tub, it's a bit too late to do anything about it.

:whathesaid:

sometimes you'll see h2o2 as the cure for cobweb mold.

however if you have cobweb in the first place you dun fucked up something royal so fix the problem and toss it out and start over.

h2o2 damages your mycelium thus giving contamination the upper hand in most cases, as contamination grows faster it will recover and go right back to business

the cure for contamination is the trash can or burial outside

The green color you see from a contamination is the spores... The actual mold is all up in the substrate.

This is exactly what I do, salt works great for buying some extra time when you have trich.

Ah well that's not necessarily true. If they're pinning a small amount of everclear sprayed on the contam (if it's a surface body like bacteria or algae) if its mold this wont work.

This of course only applies during fruiting though, and its not a surefire solution. and If your getting contaminants then i'd work to improve the tek you're working on.

Why do you say that?  Everytine I had trich during/before a flush, it worked wonders for me.  I know it's not a solution but it certainly buys some time, and beats letting the trich spread or tossing the tub away.

Here's how I see it: one can both focus on making cleaner spawn AND tryt tpo get some harvest from the contaminated projects at the same time.

These things aren't mutually exclusive.  Why not do both?

You could but you only make your job of clean spawn harder letting those spores get everywhere...you go rigjt ahead with that shit i will always say fuck salt fuck peroxide...all that matters is clean spawn you can settle all ya want.
