Why glc? Do a g2g with the donors to a couple jars and see how it progresses... It takes a long time to use up all of the nutrients in grains, I'll bet your metabolites are not from running out, rather a bacterial contamination.

Update. 3 out the 7 jars. Had one spot of trich, they were dumped. The other four jars are done with no visable contams. Going to wait three more days before i case them. Just in case

From what i read its not so hard to determine if ur jars are contamed. I have cut pieces of contamed col rye and gtg to bulk with ok results. If it where a blue, black, pink, etc color id toss.
But since no jar has secreted metabs knock on wood, i will plan to use em.

Will do around 8pm 2nite. I use a t.i.t too incubate, 1st time doing so stay at a constante 77ish temp rh 60-70. 1 jar is showing slow signs of myc no contams visually on that one. Its been 5 days since knocked up so its not to far behind perhaps...

Why this horrible disinformation persists after we've known for over 50 years that these liquids are antibiotic and released in response to bacteria is beyond comprehension. Next time you get sick, ask the doctor for a myc piss shot instead of antibiotics and see him look at you like you just bumped your head or fell off a turnip truck. If your grains are infected, there will be metabolites. If you've colonized at above normal room temperature, bacteria has been stimulated and thus the metabolites. RR

RogerRabbit said: Mycelium does not urinate, not is it infused with bacteria. Metabolites are anti-bacterial in fact. Mix it with water and use it on your plants. It's an excellent fertilizer. RR

Do we really need 7 RR quotes here? Some of which are repetitive without providing additional information? 'Myc piss' is the vernacular expression referring to metabolites that are not a waste product, but rather contain secreted antibiotics and enzymes that help break down substrate and defend against invading contaminants.
If you are a trusted cultivator, we will probably trust your one statement enough with out the superfluous quoting.

With as pervasive, inaccurate, and childish as the term "myc piss" is, I fully support 7 RR quotes telling people why we should call it what it is: secreted metabolites.
