OK. I was asking because if it's fungal then you may be making it worse with spraying. Maybe post it into more threads or wait for some more opinions I'd say.

Thank you for the information. I am wondering if the black dots are where the aphids had pentetrated the leaf and were sucking out the juices.  The leaf curled before the dots appeared.

I have never had trouble like this before. I have had an easy time up to now.

Well, there are many kinds of aphids, but to my knowledge no, aphids don't make black or brown spots. Fungus gnats do (search for gnats in the text) but typically the leaf yellows, too, when that damage show up which is why I didn't consider them. Aphids also prefer the growing tips and the new growth would be covered with them (and growing distorted).

I asked a gardener friend of mine.

ETA: She says "yes it's some kind of fungal". This is all she says.

ETA2: Check what you would do for tomato blight. It actually looks much like blight. Lower leaves, brown, ... I don't have any experience with this s I can't really advise what to spray on them. But I'd google peroxide for example. Which is a fungicide in low concentrations.

I have mugwort plants that are infected with aphids and cottony things. I removed them from the house and they are now outside. I have seen cottony things, some sort of aphids and webs on the mugwort.

I saw a couple of round things (eggs) on the underside of my salvia leaves but the first signs were black spots on one plant and the leaves going yellow, crispy and curling on the other. I have since moved the salvia from the cfl lights and put them under the led lamps and I have been spraying the two plants with neem solution outside at night, every two days. The mugworts have been treated every day but I still can see a few aphids and cottony things on them.

I went from this

to this quite quickly. You can see the yellowing leaves

However you can see the black blight on the plant is front. So maybe I have several things going on at once. One plant is light yellow and one is still dark green.  I think one is Blosser and the other maybe Hoffman

Yellowing can be so many things that it's not an indicative of anything. It can be nutrient lockout (pH problem), under- or overfertilization, insects, overwatering, underwatering, ...

Like you say, it can also be a combination, and my guess would be too clogged (dense) soil (it looks very compact!), probably overwatered, and therefore, fungal issues. Could be. But the eggs part got me lost, so...

Maybe the egg thing is something else. I did see a few of them on the plant but not that many. I wonder if the neem solution will help to reduce the maggots in the soil.

Peroxide is used to kill for example fungus gnat eggs and larvae in the soil. I used it successfully for gnats, too. search

Neem cake! I considered buying neem powder from amazon but never actually did it. I'll look into it again. Thank you too.

I have some Neem powder from 2004. I can't remember what I got it for but it is probably still OK.

He gives the link and they have the neem cake. I will give it a try.

Unfortunately, I'm in Europe. I've already called off the powder orders a couple of times because of the shipping :frown:

I did a quick search now and it costs me about $20-25 per pound, shipped to my location. From Amazon/eBay UK. I'll look around a bit more.

He said in the video that neem cake was more popular in Europe, so it might be more easily available for you. I would suggest that you keep searching and good luck.

Well I sucked it up and bought some. Also some mycorrhizae. I'll soon need it to pot my monsters. :awegrow:

Maybe I should get some mycorrhizae with my neem order as well.  I have never used it before.

Browser you say you aren't feeding them... That may be why they are getting light green.

Sally should be a deep emerald green color.
Try feeding them a light dose of 1-1-1 kelp or a bit less of a higher concentrated fish emulsion fertilizer.

Use a very small amount so you don't cause more issues.

I don't think it is the soil as it is new potting soil and the plant is a new cutting which has only been in that pot since September.

I have eased back on the watering now as well. The plant was doing well until it came indoors. One plant came in with signs of browning on the leaves that you mentioned. Post 1 month 8 days ago
