    #23888913 - 12/02/16 08:49 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Habitat:
I found this while I was hunting for lib. Caps and don't know if it could contain psilosibin/psilosin or if its poisinous. Cow pasture, oregon country, I found 3 growing all together in one pile of cow shit.

Gills:
Grayish black, not attached

Stem:
The biggest stem was 8.5 cm the smaller ones were about 3 to 4 cm, about .5cm in diameter, brown but bruised black when squized, silky smooth, solid, thin.

Cap:
3 cm in Diameter, light brown/tan with black spots, silky smooth texture like the stem, conical.

Spore print color:
Either a super dark brown or black

Bruising:
Black bruising on the stem when squized.

Other information:
Has no smell.

Inactive Panaeolus. Is Oregon county in the state of Oregon? Psilocybin-containing mushrooms do not grow in cow dung in that state.

It looks like panaeolus species.  I would have assumed. The bruising  looks/sounds similar to panaeolus cyanescens but being from Oregon I highly highly doubt you see them up there. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the psilocybe cyanescens season on in the northern states? If I were you I'd be all up in the forest and woody areas looking for woodloving species... although I prefer woodlover species.  If you want my overall opinion of what to do with those mushrooms I'd say toss them. I'm not from America or an expert so dont take my word for it but as far as I know: dung-loving tropical mushrooms p.cubensis,pan. Cyan etc don't grow in Oregon at all. Happy hunting though I wish it was the winter season here
