You say your greenhouse is 16x18, what do you think the max lbs/per week is you could do with this fruiting chamber?

Well, it depends on the species, type of sub, how many flushes, sterilizer capacity, inc. room capacity, cooler capacity, etc... but going off of my current setup I use 6.5 lb blocks for oysters. each shelf can hold approximately 70 blocks and I have room for 14 shelves plus some end cap shelves that hold 40 blocks, for a total of roughly 1,000 blocks. So assuming you did one flush only to keep rotations tight and if each block yields 20-30% that's anywhere from 1,200-1,900lbs completely maxed out. But I'm going for multiple flushes since I have way more fruiting room than I do incubation room. there are about 100 other considerations you would need to take into account growing that much fungus, but it's nice to know your limitations!

i think you're forgetting that you need 2-3 weeks of production in the grow room since you need one batch pinning while another one is almost ready to harvest. if you want the same production every week, that is a commonly over looked.

last night I dorked out for several hours on a spreadsheet for oyster mushrooms just trying to get an idea as to what I can accomplish if I move forward with this with what space I have available. MycoFlora you say you're at around 100-150 lbs a week of fresh fruits? What kind of time per week are you investing to get that 100 lbs a week goal? Grower is telling me it's around 8-10 hours once things are dialed in? Beautiful day out here, I'll be working on the greenhouse today

Excellent point, drake. Definitely jumped the gun a bit on those maths How often are you putting a fresh round in? Every 5-7 days? I only plan to MAX produce 100-200lbs which I should have no problem with in this space.
liloldme- I'm not quite at the 100lbs a week yet, but we are getting there. I'm at about 50-60lbs at the moment. I never grow more than I am certain I can sell. Anyway, on the cultivation side it probably only takes about 10 hours a week at the moment, but at least double that for farmers markets and deliveries. I think grOwer has help with delivering too so that would save a ton of time. If you are producing 100lbs+ a week by yourself including marketing and sales just consider it a part to full time job at 30+ hours a week.

Everything I'm seeing online in regards to Shiitake and oyster mushrooms yield right around 25 lbs per sq/ft of growing space per year. How accurate would you guys feel this is?
Doing 200Lbs/week with your 16x18 fruiting chamber
16x18= 288 sq/ft available for fruiting
200x52.1429= 10428.58 lbs a year using 288 sq/ft
10428.58/288 = 36.21 lbs per sq/ft each year
Thanks for all the help so far!

My shelves have 5 tiers, so it's actually more like 360ish square feet of fruiting room. And lbs per square foot depends on the method of production you are going for and how many flushes. Supp. blocks have higher yield/ sq.ft. Shiitake I can only get 1 block/1-1.5lb sq. ft at best for 2 flushes. Oysters I get more like 2 blocks/3-5 lbs per sq. ft. over 2-3 flushes.
Never really bothered figuring out yield per sq. ft. for the year, but I use the shorter term metrics to help make decisions when shelf space gets tight. I like where your heads at though!

I taught this dude everything he knows about mush cult. I gave him unlimited access to my lab and supplies. MycoFlora used me for my lab and cultures to sell at the farmer's market then exed me out of my own operation when he received a grant to grow mushrooms using all my SOP's and equipment. Don't be fooled by this user, he's a very crappy person who has no sense of honor.

Oh I would love to tell you how I really feel about it, but apparently another mod will swoop down from the sky like a crybaby butthurt superman to "reprimanded" me with his gavel of a keyboard.
I miss the good ole days where the shroomery wasn't this padded wall of a forum. Liars deserve to be called out on here.

You can put away the popcorn guys, there's not going to be a show. All I can say is everything this guy has said is categorically untrue. This guy has never had an 'operation', I have never received grant money lol, and I certainly never stole anything. I should point out that this 'guy' is my brother. Insert your typical sibling fall out story and that should fill in the gaps. He has done this about once a month for a year straight. I could set my watch by it. He has harassed me on several social media accounts, phone calls, texts, etc., then sends a barrage of apology texts asking for forgiveness. He has even tried to call code enforcement on me so many times now they are going to take him to court for filing false claims/harassment. He blew up my business page with claims that my mushrooms make people's hair fall out and now apparently I stole his non existent business. lol It is something new every month. He has very severe emotional and drug abuse issues, which is why this whole thing came about in the first place.
This forum is about the cultivation of gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, not a soap box for angry sibling diatribes. I'd suggest you post something about gourmet mushrooms, which you can't because you don't grow them, or contact the Jerry Springer show. I'm sure they would love to have you.
Regardless of the conversation that ensues I'm not going to derail the forum any further. PM me if you have questions, which I will happily answer. Please, don't feed the trolls, and keep on shroomin'.

Any updates on the farm? How are sales going?
My mushroom farm plans are coming together slowly, paid to get trees taken down the other day to make room for it, having a 100Amp 220v panel installed this coming Saturday to power the greenhouse we'll be erecting come spring.

Sales are good! more demand than I can meet at the moment. We are in 3 local grocery stores and few restaurants. Really just getting ready for the farmers market.
What structure/flooring did you end up going with?
