the blower is on the inside of the greenhouse and mounted directly into the 1st layer of plastic, so it does suck the heated air from the greenhouse, but it is nothing substantial. They make blowers that mount on the outside to avoid this problem. You can also double layer your endwalls and connect the air supply with tubes so you only need one blower.

liloldme- this is a pic of how the blower is mounted.
Got the blower and my fans/shutters from here- http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/vent2.shtml
Also, think I'm starting to learn to speak the language of shiitake

and just some pics of the 'dunk tank'. Dunking some 2 week dried shiitake blocks. A small splash of bleach in each dunk. Hopefully going for 2-3 flushed if the green meanie doesn't catch up with me before then, which I'm sure it will.

Thank you guys!
liloldme- That's how the medium scale commercial ops do it,except they use HUGE troughs. Though most people don't even bother with 2nd and 3rd flushed because of the contam issues. I am pretty small scale so I have to really squeeze every bit that I can out of my blocks.
Oh and I just harvested those blocks today..20% first flush on almost every block. That's 1lb per 5lb block which is right where I wanted to be. Such a huge mile stone for us and I couldn't be happier!

Thanks guys!
Small update- sold a case (5lbs) of shiitake to a local grocer, and waiting on the rest of my oysters for my first wholesale account. They only want 50lb a week, but it's a steady account and a good break as the production year begins!
Decided to throw together some brown oyster blocks from some spawn I had ready. All the king oysters were an abysmal failure, so I had to move on into a sure thing. Not the highest yielding strain, but one of my favorite oysters in terms of taste. I also forgot how photo sensitive they are, so i had to strip a few of the bags. They really pin wherever they want. They work best with black plastic. Getting 1lb first flush, which is pretty average.

and unloading the next round from the steamer.
Dont know why i made a new thread for it...but I go into detail about it over here---> https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24014175

Thanks! No they aren't vented. I used to use vented clam shells but they dried the shrooms out very quickly. My competitors here use these same clam shells and get 1.5 weeks of shelf life off of them so i thought I'd give them a go.

Farmers market or grocery store? Looks great man! Have any issues with permits? Did the county have to come inspect your greenhouse? I need a permit to build mine if it's for commercial use, so I'm gonna build it before I get the business license aha

Thanks!
And no I did not have to pull a permit. I did have to have them out about 10 times to explain the structure and it's intended use but they did not require that i pull a permit. In my city you only need a growers affidavit and they give you a growers permit for free, no business license required. Zoning is a different story, but so far am told im in the clear. After going through the filing of business taxes, business registration, getting business permits they told me at the very end of it all that I didn't even need them. They also have very laxed home business laws as well here. I will say, make sure you have enough $$$ upfront to obtain good liability insurance. This has been one of the things holding me back from some outlets I would be selling through right now. The bigger guys won't even look at your product without insurance.

That is a good point product liability can be a big concern. Unless you protect yourself , all your assets and more can be fair game. Now days in business a LLC is an almost must. I'm guessing a million would be minimum for product liability.

Oh wow I didn't even think about that. MycoFlora I spent most of my day clearing and making room for the greenhouse. Was gonna make it kinda like yours still not sure if I'm doing artificial lighting with black and white plastic or natural.

Yes, 1 million is what most food hubs, local groceries and BIG farmers markets require. I wouldnt worry about the little farmers markets though, they usually don't ask for insurance.

If you have the $$$ the obvious decision is to do panda film, insulate and get some t5 or t8's in there. But I have not seen any light defiencies using natural sunlight even at the shortest time of year. I thought I had light issues before that turned out to be just some mutants and over watering. The double layer inflated poly works great in temperate climates like mine. Even when it was 14F outside I managed to keep it in the 50's with my window unit.

I think 14F would be about the coldest I would see here. I don't even think it's dropped below 25F all winter. Excited
