I'm annoyed by vegans as much as any man. But when they say that the world would be better without meat consumption, they are 200% correct.

Cattle farming takes lots of space. Space that is created by deforestation. They also produce enormous amounts of methane. In order to feed the cattle we need to deforest even more to grow wheat. It's pre nonsense when you start looking at science. But hey, nobody ever said that humans are rational being.

I barely eat beef. Barely eat chicken. Rarely eat porc and I pretty much never eat any other lad animal. I love my seafood and fish though. But I still don't eat a lot of it.

I discovered beans. Man do I love chickpeas.

You're otw to being a vegetarian you just don't know it.  You sound exactly like how I did when I became one years ago.  Like, almost word for word.

I had to cuss out a vegan girl on Facebook one time. Went from boiling crawfish, to boiling people, to boiling my family.

  Crazy bitches I swear.

And it's just a righteous kick. Religious folk do it over not eating certain types of meat (but eat others) or not eating meat on certain days and then walk around like they're so much better than everyone else because they deny themself something that most of us have no qualms over.

I think this is a spot on accurate answer.  The 'holier than thou' attitude is an ego-stroke, there's no actual reason why they're angry about you eating meat, it's just a 'reason' in their mind to get in someone's face that they can 'justify' because of their choice to be a vegan.

It was an obvious thing when comparing the two roommates I had- one completely fine with other people's eating choices, the other one going apeshit over it...  Now that I think about it, that guy also had other ego issues.  He was one of those 'guru' wannabes that thought he was the enlightened gift to the world, and those around him just weren't 'enlightened' the way he was, as such he treated everyone as lowers, so it wasn't just his vegetarianism that was his problem, it was his entire ego.

People's Ego is where the problem is, they'll use any means necessary to express it and get their kick.

OP you keep saying that to not eat meat is to waste it.  That's not true; it reduces demand and thus, production.  If you want to talk about waste read Patlal's post.

I rarely eat meat besides fish unless it is absolutely about to be thrown away.  Once I get some EPA/DHA algae I'll stop eating fish.

The whole "scrawny vegan" thing isn't true either.  You don't need steak to be jacked, as many vegan bodybuilders will tell and show you: http://www.greatveganathletes.com/bodybuilders

However, I don't think many vegans carry a "Do you even lift bro?" attitude...

Some do carry a "holier-than-thou" fanaticism, but don't let those with loose screws throw you from the path that calls you.

If my GF had a fur coat and someone threw blood on it, I'd imediately say "Do you know how many more foxes I'm gonna have to kill to replace that?"

Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order:
1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine
2)Amanita (urine drank twice)
3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose)
4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators)
5)Salvia (need to try quid)

All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental.

Blessing.

me either. A lot of my good friends growing up were either vegetarian and vegan, two came from completely vegetarian families I was close with. While on facebook they would sometimes post awareness things, not once did they raise issues over myself or any other carnivorous friends ordering meat when we went out to eat together. All their families ever did was cook bomb ass food without meat, never felt pressured or chastised for eating meat at all(though I always ate what they cooked they were nice enough that if I was the type to stay for dinner and specifically request meat I think they'd probably prepare it...but that seemed extremely rude to me even as a kid), but I was always very open minded towards their lifestyle and since they knew all the best vegetarian/vegan/raw food restaurants I usually took it as an opportunity to try new vegetarian dishes at their recommendation - but if myself or one of several carnivores in our group really wanted a steak, no one was gonna chastise them for it.

Similarly, my good friend's roommate is a super chill vegan. Everyone else in the house eats meat. When I come over usually I'll bring some groceries for dinner and we'll cook it together(my kitchen is SO small, I can't stand cooking in it, so this is how I get myself a home cooked meal nowadays) and I always pick up something for the vegan when I go out to get dinner supplies - even if it's just a box of vegan mac and cheese that we use as a side that she can eat too. If she was a real pain in the ass and pitched a fit over my friend's and eye cooking meat there's no way in hell I'd want to go out of my way to include her, but I think the 'pushy vegan' thing is less related to veganism and more just a type of person. People trying to push their lifestyle on you, no matter WHAT it is, just suck in general.

What's wrong with a vegan who isn't in any way pushy with their views?  How would you even know if they are vegan?  What someone chooses to put in their mouth, chew, swallow, and digest is of no consequence to me.  I find it highly irrational to judge someone for what they choose to eat or not eat.

Nothing about webster is rational. He's a naive child and my impression of him thus far is that he doesn't feel comfortable being around people that are different from himself.

The fact that they refuse to eat meat is so personally offending and incredibly rude that I feel a moral obligation to be vocal about their debauchary

You know what i find weird.

First of all let me say that i have been a vegetarian before but i dont give a fuck and i ahvent for a long time so im experienced but not biased and these are my findings.

Most vegetarians/vegans i know will just be minding their own bussiness until someone offers them meat and they say they dont eat meat.

Then atleast one meat eater will start an argument with them about needing meat and baccon being too good. trying to get them back on their side.

I was vegetarian for a while one time to try it out and people would not shut the fuck up about what i was eating. People not shutting up about my diet is a good 30% of why i stopped when i did.

Ive met way more in your face meat eaters who roast vegans than in your face vegans.

My cousin, dad and great uncle are the worst. "What about thanks giving dinner?"

none of your goddamned bussiness what im eating on thanks giving go fuck yourself.

They put you on the spot infront of everyone and try to make you feel like an idoit because they have better tasting food.

My cousin will be like "vegans are stupid" not even because they are pretentious but because to him eating meat is so important that anyone who doesnt eat it must not know what they are missing.

Well most vegetarians BECAME vegetarians after eating meat. They fucking know what meat is.

I have met atleast 10 in your face meat eaters but no in your face vegetarians. Thats my experience.

I give zero fucks about personal dietary restrictions and nobody else should care either imo.

You may roast people for not eating baccon but a muslim might roast you for eating such a dirty animal. It takes all kinds.

Now i cringe when i see a vegan going through the conversation i had to. I just want to tell the guy (its a guy 90% of the time) to let them be and enjoy their own meal.

Vegan logic: the response "none of your goddamn business what im eating, go fuck yourself" is an appropriate response to the "rude" question: "what about thanksgiving dinner."

What ever dude. You are interpreting that how you want to. Nothing i will say is going to get you to look at what i said through a different lense.

If someone who was just curious aske dme that then thats fine but when the people wgo relentlessly argue their stance on vegetarian ask it i would get so annoyed becausr they just want to argue.

He just wants another argument against vegans. Hes one of the people who would tell you baccon is too good not to eat.

For alot of people it takes dedication and discipline to alter your diet that much and when people are trying to just tempt you constantly it fucks with your dedication.

Its like someone who quit gambling and it was really hard for them but they are turning their life around and doing so well.

Then there are people like "come on just bet one one game with me" or "lets go to the casino one last time together." It makes it so much more hard because you just dont want to think about meat.

Its like when im trying to stay sober for a while for what ever reason and people are making me angry all day. I might lose hope and ruin my work.

Its like that except that everyone acctually knows that you are trying to acheive the goal and its not easy but they decide to fuck with you anyway.

I don't think I ever said anything about meat impact on our environment.  In fact I think I even mentioned the poor way we treat our food?

I guess if you want to go out on a tangent to find something to argue with me about, by all means........you won't find it there.  You are correct.  We don't do it right is all, and we could.  As technology advances, correct me if I am wrong, but won't we be able to just produce a genetically modified chunk of meat?  Insta kill and insta eat?

For the record I only eat chicken when I am bulking up, burgers are a guilty pleasure, and eggs and occasional fish are the only things I really eat on the regular.  I usually just eat carbs veggies and fruits.

The issue I'm stating has nothing to do with the environment. It's people ruining my dinner because they have an issue with my food.

I hate mustard with a passion, when I see someone eating it I don't go over and tell them they are horrible people and there's way better alternatives.

They definitely exist. My cousin's husband is like this, pretty much only see him at the family christmas party and every year he goes on about how horrible it is that people are eating a turkey. It's like religion, there are many religious people who do not take great personal offense that you don't share their belief system, but the ones who do can be really fucking annoying to spend any time with.
