Oh you're leaving on the 23rd? Now I get it. You'll probably be getting a flush before that if all goes well.

Just harvest them early... Seems like a hassle. I wouldn't be afraid of police but it just doesn't seem worth the effort to me.

yeah, I hope so too.
But goddamn it's a hard mess to put the polyfil in there very tight. I wasn't able at all to put them in that tight like I stuff it in rye jars. Just impossible. I hope it's enough that tight I did it

They don't have to be extremely tight.
If you have a 1 inch(ish) area around the bottom holes that doesn't have condensation on the wall and your top holes have an area underneath them stretching down towards the bottom of the tub that also doesn't have any condensation - it's dialed in properly.
If it's first flush, you can leave it just like that until you harvest.
Hope that helps you a bit.

Yeah, thank you man
I think it's fine like it is now.
Unfortunately I touched the sub a bit while stuffing in the poly. I hope I didn't bring in any contamination.

Neither spawning nor fruiting is a sterile process. I touch my sub from time to time. Proper pasteurization of substrate or bucket tek w/ coir (hah.. sort of) is what wards off contaminates. You spawned your tub in open air, right?
Millions of contaminates fell into your tub during that process... Your fully colonized (and contaminate-free) grains and properly prepared substrate is what caused none of those contaminates to take hold and grow.
You're all good...

I've moved BEFcakes, atleast 30 of them across states before. But that was in a box, in a uhaul, carefully planned.
If you get pulled over you're not gonna be spending the holidays with your folks.
Worth it?

Yes, you are right
I threw away thee treys because of contamination today, now I am a bit concerned
Some very small hairs of poly that fell onto the sub are also no problem? Tried to get them out there but it's impossible without grabbing into the substrate. I think it's better to leave them there, right?

Leave the tubs at home. Dial them in as well as you can before you leave, maybe even a bit less on FAE and more on humidity. When you come back, if there is a mess of spore-blackened caps on huge mushrooms, no problem. Just dry them and grind them all up into powder and put the powder into capsules. Who cares if you have some nasty spore-tasting mushrooms if they're in capsules.

POLYFIL!
Oh no!
That synthetic fiber fell in your tub-it must be riddled with mushroom aids and mushroom HIV!

Jk man... Polyfil is fine too. No worries.

I don't know, my selfconfidence shrinked due to the contaminated trays yesterday
But you are right, I just thought that during colonization or at beginning of fruiting in a mono the myc could be a bit stressed/weakened.

Getting pulled over with two tubs of mushrooms in Germany probably means a cool conversation with the cops about mushrooms.
A lot different than stateside.
My anecdote about stateside cops following rules. They don't give a fuck about rules and laws themselves.

Yeah Bodhi since you were here you know what I mean. Police is very different here than in other states. Actually I decided to not to risk it, but just because of the fruits not because of the cops.
You know I really think if police stop me, they would not even recognize it's cubes as you said, it would more likely end in a small talk about edibles

One time me and a fellow shroomerite needed to check on his buddies grow. He was looking after dudes monos while he was out of town for work.
Anyways we get to his shitty basement suite apt to find the pipes had burst and freezing fucking water 3 inches deep. We fucking charge in hauling monos out of closets and into the car. Goddamn things were 105 quart bastards and weighed a ton. We barely got them into the car before the building super showed up and started poking into everything.
Driving back to buddies it dawned on us that we may have just saved his buddy from a bad conversation with the law but we were in a car now filled with monos in one of the more heavily patrolled parts of town. Then we had to get them from the car into his apt.
That was a stressful night.

It was also about 5 degrees F out and yet the monos all fruited fine in the end. That was the moral of the story.
