Never ever tell your doctor about your drug use unless the strongest thing you ever want to be prescribed is ibuprofen. They'll brand you as a drug seeker/user/addict, and then virtually all drugs are off limits to you for good.
I should know. I made the mistake of telling them when I was much younger (over 10 years ago), and they STILL won't give me anything even remotely decent.

I know doctors and pharmacists are able to pull up any scheduled medications you've been prescribed and bought, because it's all logged by the DEA or something.
But I'm curious if they can input some "red flag" type of thing in with your insurance company, so that every time you use that insurance under your name, it shows up as "drug user" or "hypochondriac" or whatever.

Depends man. For the standard garden-variety illnesses I find it irrelevant
But when I tried some RC that messed with my kidneys I definitely told her about it. Luckily in the Netherlands drugs aren't really an issue and there is very strict patient-doctor confidentiality

That is true. They will most likely not prescribe any controlled substances if you tell them you do illegal drugs.
Btw, why did you delete all your youtube videos????? I really enjoyed them.

So, I'm actually curious... is there a nationwide database where any doctor of any type can pull up these records about you, once there IS a written record about you?
What if you travel to a new doctor out of county or out of state, can they still pull up these records about you?
I don't think there is. My new doctor told me that I needed to contact the old doctor and have them fax the records over.

I don't think there is. That's why its so easy to doctor shop. There may be some state-level type of regulation, but I don't think every doctor and every pharmacist in the country has access to the scheduled drugs that someone has took.

They're morally and legally bound to at least reevaluate your treatment once you disclose drug use. If your going to the doctor for scheduled 'medicine' then you wouldn't disclose anything. If it's just a family doctor, then it's of no concern and you should bring it up if your worried about it.

Those of you who don't tell your doc everything are dumb as fuck...
The man is trying to figure out your health and whether or not there's a risk to your life and you don't divulge the one thing that could definitely be a huge part of the diagnosis...
You: Gee doc my sinuses feel weird. Doc: Hmmm, Do you do anything that could contribute to that? You: No not at all! (Except for the 5 grams of coke I've been snorting every night for that last week and a half)
Patient confidentiality. They have to respect it.

I told my dentist I party when I got my wisdom teeth taken out. He got a kick out of it. Said he had to turn the nitros all the way up which is unusual he said. And then gave me thos 7.5 mg norcos. Depends on the Dr. This dude has told me stories about him cutting his hand on glass at a bar, driving back to his office putting the mask on and stitching his shit up like a g. Dr's are people too.

Maybe not in the country but then again maybe. The dea certainly logs all controlled meds. Docs may only have regional info though. Either way doc shopping is not easy nowadays, even if you can go out of state (unknowingly to local docs) for a script.. I wouldn't call that easy
Last time i tried to get a script from a new pain management doc (chicago) she gave me a hard time and then eventually relented. Told me about a new system where you can type in a name and see current controlled scripts a person has. She said as long as i was clear, she'd hook it up. Which i was..
God though the shit i went through to get 60 trams. This was over the summer.
Drug use is one thing to worry about telling docs. Unless youre having a real concern i personally would conceal as much as possible/practical. What your real concern is when your doc starts asking about your guns and mental state.
Ive known people with big mouths to get calls/visits from police for sarcastically saying something to the doc about going crazy.

I smell like good tobacco at least. It doesn't bother me, part of the masculine appeal. They can't report that I smell like tobacco either. I mean they could, but what would that do? Lol

yeah many people have tried to clarify that in this thread.
i agree that you SHOULD be able to tell your doctor everything but you should also be allowed medication when you need it.
if a problem occurs that I think might be a result of my drug use then ill decide if its worth telling him. ill cross that bridge when i come to it.

I tell the doctors what they want to hear to get what I want but I have a therapist that doesn't control or talk to the person who controls my psyche/pain meds. So I tell him most everything.
