First monotub questions

Hey shroomery first post
You can skip all and go straight to questions if you like, i'll mark it with this emoji
So i finally started a grow (and made an account) after awhile of lurking the forums.
so Before my questions and before anyone tells me bulk with brf is a bad idea i know, but i don't have a PC at the moment so steam sterilization had to do for my first one. iv'e read a lot of positive personal experiences and maybe a couple unsuccessful with brf and bulk. I didn't want the fruit them as cakes because, well it simply didn't appeal to me, it seems like a mini mono would be more efficient and produce some higher yields.
So, i bought some spore syringes of Thai Lipa Yai and followed the magic mushrooms growers guide by T Mckenna and inoculated 3 pint jars and waited until they were fully colonized. Before i did this and mostly during i did an immense amount of research on benefits of fruiting as cakes, benefits of SGFC, benefits of a mono-tub, and other miscellaneous things.
I proceeded to buy a 20 qt sterlite tub for a mini-mono and a brick of coco coir, and polyfil. I made the monotub, 1 2-inch hole right above sub on all four sides, on the both long sides i made another 2 inch hole near the top of the tub. I chose to mainly follow damions tek but substitute brf for grain (even though not explicitly mentioned) after finding peoples results with it. Put brick of coir and about a half quart of verm in a large 4 gallon pasta pot with lid (not using my bait bucket for this lol) and proceeded to pour around 4-5 quarts of boiling water in there covered for 30 mintes, stirred well, and let sit for 2 and a half hours. I than mixed again, and put it about a quarter of the coir probably not even that much, since i have only 1 and a half quarts of spawn. Mixed very well. Threw some spent coffee grounds in there as well on top of substrate.
So, now on to the questions. I fucked up on two things. First one was i didn't put substrate in garbage bag or any liner to prevent side pinning. Solution- i noticed this immediately after mixing up sub in the tub, put tinfoil around the outside of tub wherever the substrate was (bottom and sides) and taped it on. Justification- i did this because i read it was actually a type of liner i read about and saw it on a photo
Second one and it's a big one, i put polyfill in the holes already and misted a couple times. Why? No fucking clue. Solution- god i hope this worked. I just took out polyfil 1 by 1 and immediately covered each hole with tape.
My question is did both of these things work? Especially the second? If not, what else can i possibly do?

A liner should be plastic and inside the tub so it shrinks with the substrate. Light don't cause side and bottom pinning, the gap between the sub and tote creates a perfect micro climate that causes side and bottom pinning. A plastic liner sticks to the sub and shrinks with it eliminating the gap. Putting poly in right away is fine, or you can wait for full colonization before poly. Either way works fine.

well shit about the first thing. Anything i can do about it?
Glad about the second one, any benefit in putting in poly early or taping? thanks for the quick reply.

Poly right away cuts about 4-5 days off of the entire process so you get fruits sooner. Some ppl swear by it some still tape the holes up
You don't really need a liner as long as you get the tub dialed good enough to where the surface climate is more ideal than the sides and bottom.

Get the bottom holes stuffed as tight as you can and the top kinda medium/loose to start with. You want beads of moisture on the surface of the sub like this
You want evap rings around your bottom holes like this
And you want evap lines from the top holes to at least 3/4 down the tub like the middle tote back left corner
Then it's basically loosening or tightening the top poly to achieve those things.

You start getting too much surface moisture then loosen up the top holes, not enough surface moisture then tighten top holes. Once you find what works for your environment then you can basically stuff em and leave em

Did you sterilize the coffee grounds at all? Casing with coffee grounds is a big no no man, I would not have done that

Really i had never heard of sterilizing spent coffee grounds. I mean they were already brewed at high temperatures so basically boiled water was physically touching them for a couple minutes i feel like with anything else that would be an adequate amount of heat to sterilize they're also espresso grounds if that makes a difference. Could be wrong about that though.
they are basically sitting right on top of the sub, i could scoop it out if that would make any difference.

Fuck it there coming out right now, i probably already fucked up but i also have an outdoor bed that's fully colonize if this fails i'll just dig another hole next to it and end up throwing the sub in there.
I never even thought to look this up.
Well, fuck.

I would remove them, even if they were sterilized I would never case with them. That's a feast for mold bud

Didn't know that, will never use again. I guess in my head i never thought of sterilizing them because they were brewed. Very glad i made this thread now.

Even if they were sterilized you should never use them as a casing ever

Good to know, they are gone now. I also did what you said with the polyfil Bottom ones are very tight and top are fairly loose kinda medium. Also when getting out the coffee i noticed some rhizomorhpic growth, that's enough to be promising for me. I also had the top off for so long i very lightly misted with 3%hydrogen peroxide, since it kills spores and not myc. Here's some photos of the tub and the substrate. All the white crumbles is the crumbled brf cake, its thoroughly mixed throughout. The white crumbles on the edge as well is definitely brf ( i made sure) while it kind of looks like the beginning of trich in the photos i've seen.

Don't spray peroxide on your sub unless you have a small outbreak of cobweb mold. Imo peroxide will effect the mycelium to some extent, kinda weaken it. Especially if it's colonization stage. Peroxide isn't going to kill mold spores. Your actually doing more harm than good doing that. Just leave it alone other than adjust the poly to dial it in

I'm sorry, i am using this post because i'm new and don't know how to make a topic.. but i will be very grateful if I can ask u a couple of questions. I've got myself cubensis grow box.The pics are from the 3th day. I've read a lot but still.. i can't understand is this right. See, the firs thing that concerns me is ok if there are little drops of water on the sides of the plastic bag and is this little stop of white mold, actually cubensis mycelium or can it develop into a contamination. How can I avoid overhydration?
