Hi there.
I am going to be using damion's 50/50 coir tek for my monotub. Is there any other mixture I could add to the substare for a better yield for example 50/50 manure base? If that can not work could I add something else or leave it as is?

Coir is the easiest and best suited for beginners to boot. There is nothing wrong with coir. As far as the substrate is concerned, your yields will be determined by your ability to properly hydrate and prepare the substrate. Choice of substrate materials among the usual popular choices doesn't really matter much in comparison to your technique. Personally I don't bother with poo because it's a pain in the ass, and if you're a beginner, possibly setting yourself up for greatly increased chance of failure if your pasteurization game isn't on point. Coir is easy breezy and works amazingly well.
Just go with the tek as written. Later, when you are more experienced, you will be equipped to determine if you want to branch out from there.

Follow damion's tek to a T. You're already trying to get clever by asking about substituting ingredients... if you are a beginner, this is a mistake. In fact it's probably the most common mistake we see on these boards. Hundreds of beginners have experienced crushing failure because they failed to follow the tek, and then they come whine about it on the boards only to be told, "follow the tek, dummy."
Always follow modern, well-trusted teks until you get some experience under your belt, at which point you will be equipped to research and experiment on your own.

In a bucket with boiling water. Search bucket tek
