Oysta!?
    #23885590 - 12/01/16 07:34 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Growing on alder coast range oregon (Mary's peak). Tough and fleshy as it should be, the orange color just seemed off to me. IS this a normal coloration? Got some tissue on mea just in case it's worth it. Thanks folks

Nothing about the info on this page matches what the mushroom looms like. It's much bigger than 1-5 cm across. I. Spore printing now on dark paper to see if it has a brown print as you are speculating.

Maybe some kind of Lentinellus maybe close to Lentinellus ursinus, it's not an oyster.

Is there any info or picture I could post that would made identification easier? Besides printing or microscopy?

What color are the spores? Oysters aren't normally that color, cap or gills..

In terms of its common English name, but I would say not a true oyster, i.e. Pleurotus.
