I am gonna be buying a new stove and was wondering what is wrong with using electric flat top stoves with a pressure cooker? Is it not safe or does it not heat correctly?

electric is just bad for cooking. gas stove top all the way. electric ovens are better tho.
the weight of a loaded PC can crack the hot glass stove top thing.

The concern is the glass cracking. That depends on how big your pressure cooker is. I wouldn't use an AA 941 on an electric stove! lol

You can get a portable gas burner. I got mine for dirt cheap from a hardware store and gets the pc up to pressure really quick (if need be).
AA pc's are not really designed for electric stoves, aluminum likes it nice and flamy

exactly that
I've only used two presto 23 qt PCs on mine but packed full with substrate in bags so they can handle a lot. I did scratch mine really bad too.
I think gas is preferred but the big burner on the glass top is actually hotter than any gas burner I've used.

its not even about the PC, electric stoves takes forever to get hot even to make pasta (much more for a heavy loaded PC), fuck that.
it heats incorrectly-as in slow

gas stoves ftw. I only own a "normal" PC (German WMF, reminds me of the presto ones you have in the US) and when the PC reaches the highest pressure, it's quite hard to adjust the heat needed to let it at this point with electric stoves. With gas you have a stepless adjustment which works perfectly.

Some flat tops(cool touch ones) only work with certain types of pans. My folks have a regular flat top now and I know they won't use cast iron on it probably for the scratching reason but I have used big tri-clad stock pots on it during the holidays with no problem. They used to have the coil type electric and mom PC shit all the time on that. I have gas at my house and will never go back to electric stove. If it were me I would just look to see what type you have and then go to manufacture website or look at manual to see what you can use on it to cook with.

Fuck I can't find it but there's a pic of a flat top stove broken in half from a PC. I don't remember the exact details, but it convinced me never to use a flattop stove

I have a 900w portable burner that I use. It's under powered but it does the job. I much prefer it even over a gas stove top however for one reason, i can hook it up to an outlet timer to automatically control my runs. I have to wait about an hour for it to get to temp and vent, I drop the rocker on, and then set the timer for 3:45 and do w/e I want, don't even have to stay at the house. It takes about another hour or so to get to pressure and then because I use spawn bags with 7 full qts in each I always do 2:30 at 15psi instead of 60-90.

Because I can't set my stove on a timer. I used to have to hang around the house for ~5 hours per pc cycle. I normally do 2-3 cycles at a time so that's a whole day gone plus some of the next one. This way I only have to wait an hour, throw the rocker on and set the timer and I can go do w/e I want. When I come back the PC is done, the pressure has released, and I can open it up, wait another hour, and then I'm good again. I have to stop by the house if I'm not already there, but that's 2 hours opposed to ~10, it's definitely worth it to me. Years ago I wanted to buy a 25X or 75X, but then I realized that for the ridiculous price of 800$ or whatever horse shit they charge they couldn't even simply put in a damn timer. Fuck that. I'll take my ~150$ 930 and ~20$ timer and hotplate any day over that overpriced and underengineered piece of garbage.
