Are Cyanescens ever dark brown?
    #23885149 - 12/01/16 04:49 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I've found some  mushrooms that I think may be cyanescens. I have a very old 80s mushroom identification book that says they're sometimes dark brown, but I'm a little doubtful. The caps are a little bit velvety looking, have a bump in the center and are wavy in mature specimens, but the stems, even on the young mushrooms, are brown, which seems a little weird. So far the spore print looks light brown but hasn't been going for long. ETA Found in a sportsfield in WA, at sea level.
