Tropical grow
    #23884749 - 12/01/16 02:52 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Heading to the tropics for a couple of months in a little while. I am wondering what types of cultivable species, on sawdust or agricultural waste substrates, are out there  and where i could find the cultures, purchase or trade. Hopefully will be starting a small operation there on a farm.

obvious warm weather strains are the pink, gold, and phoenix oyster.
i've aso read about Calocybe indica and agaricus blazei (not sure of substrate). any guidance, other species and information would be greatly appreciated.

Calocybe indica (Milky Mushroom) - here, Agarcus blazei (Almond Portobello) - here.
Much like oysters in substrate, both will grow on universal straw.

I have been super interested in Blazei for a while. From reading in GGMM he says it can be grown on both compost and supplemented sawdust.

Well if you manage to find those I might be interested in a trade, they both look very tasty.
