Big (and final) jar update
#23884091 - 12/01/16 10:09 AM (7 years, 1 month ago) |

Ok heres the short story: -put jars in still air container, remove lids, coat sporn with alcohol, remove wet horrid verm, put in new sterile dry verm, close lid, remove micro pore tape, puncture new air holes in jar lid and sterilize colonizing space.
Any thoughts? I have done this with my 4 slow jars and they are now sitting at a constant 78f

78 is too warm I would put the AC on
I would be willing to bet you have a 100% chance of contamination trying to replace the vermiculite barrier even im a still air box

Remove the name. They sell them for microscopy only.

Anything illegal you decide to do is on you...we keep vendors names out, due to our felonious activities... That's why vendors sites say for microscopy and taxonomy purposes only dude....

Sometimes I wonder why some people even try to get into this hobby. Just go buy some psychedelics on the street and call it a day, because you're obviously not reading any rules or taking any veteran advice or known working teks to heart.
It's really simple man, for those that follow a few simple key instructions, this hobby is easy as hell. It takes almost no effort at all if you take in the correct information and repeat those techniques that you learn without damning modifications.
You need to be successful with the basics before modifying known to work techniques, or else you're just wasting your time, and noobs are dumber for having read your posts. Stop ignoring the essential steps to be successful, or stop posting ignorant shit that noobs are going to repeat because they don't know any better.
Just saying. Not trying to be a dick, but I know that you know I'm right.
-------------------- Don't like researching posts? Read this! . Also, if you're new and your posts contain the words: Humidifer, incubator, air-stone, or heater, then you need to read and UTFSE before asking people to review your setup. OR... You should be cultivating reptiles and fish, not mushrooms.

I can dig it man, but why fail consistently and then eventually succeed through luck, when you can succeed consistently and only fail a few times out of every hundred or so attempts.
My success vs failure rate (we're talking from spore to fruit) is about 15:1. From the looks of it, you are failing about 50-75%. By following essential technique, you could reduce that to about 2-5% failure rate.
How would you like to have a few pounds to sit on, as opposed to a couple ounces? Because that's what you're missing out on, not to mention the time, effort, and money you are flushing down the toilet because you think you know better.
Stop being so stubborn dude, and let yourself learn the right ways to succeed.

lol, bro, I could honestly care less about what you do or don't do for yourself. I don't care to give you advice, because it's clear that you aren't listening, nor are you willing to admit there are better ways other than the paths you've been taking.
I'd just like to see less of you posting crap that makes absolutely no sense, and noobs picking up on that nonsense because you refuse to learn, and more of you actually learning the right ways to do things and people new to the hobby following suit.
All you will gain from posting crap like this is a mountain of disrespect. If you truly want to contribute to the community, start by learning the things other valuable members of the board have already contributed.

Seriously, you need to learn to follow fucking instructions. Would you try to change the instructions on hamburger helper???? People have done this before you were born and set out ways of guaranteed sucsess. YOU need to "chill" kiddo.

And you've just proved my point. You are still a noob. So stop being stubborn, soak up the valuable information that is free to search and learn from, and stop showing us that you can't learn and actually become a valuable member to the community.
If you are posting your process to get help with it, then start actually accepting that help.
If you are posting your process to help -others- then post information that is -actually- helpful to others.
Good luck. You're going to need it.

Ok mom.
What do you mean by "sterilize colonization space"? Are you gonna put your closet in the pc? I wouldnt mind seeing a tek for that.
Other than that you sound like you're ready to grow some mushrooms but also like you are horribly confused and intimidated by the process of actually reading. No offense but your op makes no sense
