Conocybe cyanopus?
    #23883233 - 11/30/16 10:23 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I'm pretty new to shroom hunting so I'm not 100% sure I'm right, but I'm thinking I might of found a patch of conocybe cyanopus mushrooms. I found them in Oregon near Brownsville along the calapooia river close to an old logging road, they were in a patch close to each other but not in clusters all growing in old leaves and old wood chips and wood from Douglas fir I'm pretty sure.

Gills:
Cinnamon brown, attached close together

Stem:
Most are 3-4inches long,2-3mm diameter, off white color, smoothe texture, hollow, thin and very fragile.

Cap:
About 3-4.5cm wide, orngish brown before picked, after picked dark spots developed, smoothe moist texture, conical shape, after the first day I picked them most of the caps got splits in them some of the smaller ones didn't though.

Spore print color:
Cinnamon brown

Bruising:
The cap had some darkening almost looked blue but hard to tell, the stem also had some darkened spots all over

Any help identifying this species would be great and appreciated muchly

They actually look more like conocybe smithi to me, but most of the caps got splits in it and dark spots appeared around the edges the day after I picked them, I'm not sure why, could it be bruising?

Your pictures show a coprinoid species.
