Hopefully im not in the wrong forum here, If i am i will move it.
Im almost positive sure this is come kind of contam. Ive done some research on its appearance but haven't found anything as a confirmation.
As far as my grains, I'm using bird seed. i noc'd 7 jars on 11/22. (8 days ago) (soak 24hr, PC 90min 15psi)
So far ive seen no growth in any of the jars except this one! He has had the spots of cotton-like growth on him after the 2nd day of inoculation. I pretty positive its contamed and i do plan on tossing him. However, What really strikes my interest is that there multiple spots on the top of the grain. Some looks like healthy mycellium, some looks like this cotton (pic1) But when i noced them i simply opened lid, squirted 3/4cc from a MS syringe in ONE SPOT twards the side of the jar.

why did you do this? trash them and start over. you dont open the jar you sterilized. it defeats the purpose. inject the spores through a hole in the jar and cover with micropore tape at the least.

I dont think this is true. Theyre are lots of people who just open their lid. Of course while your using a SAB...

Even when I go back to a MS syringe, I find opening the jar to be quite simple and low risk in a SAB.
In my humble opinion, I think you might as well get used to opening jars in a SAB if you plan on cultivating a while. Ditch the SHIP.
^^^ I atleast know of one TC that is doing it

Every jar I open to drop agar in. If I was doing MS, I'd open the lid in a sab as well. Fuck ships lol.
That being said, I know that muda likes ships, especially when doing liquid inocs over a massive amount of spawn.

Yeah one looks a bit green and I think the other one looks like healthy myc. Though I can't see all the spots that well. You can always let the ones you're unsure of grow out a bit more.

Yeah, thats the plan. I guess the reason for this thread was to see if anyone has had these problems before and if they found a solution. Thank you for your imput on the picture though

Lol I'll give ya the big 3 like I give to everyone else. Inoculant (agar tested/cleaned), techniques(if you put anything besides the lid and the syringe over), or sterilization(but this one is highly unlikely if it isn't bacteria)
You for sure have a mold besides cubensis in there.
