The answer lies in whether or not one considers an embryo a human being or not. It is the mother's choice whether or not she wants to have a baby. Keep in mind the child owe's his/her life to his/her parents.

Hmm... still can't answer this poll. For me, is it right? Absolutely not. Would I prevent somebody else the freedom of making that decision for themselves? Absolutely not.

I do not think that abortion is right. IMO an embryo is a human being. He/she has a heart beat and brain waves. I has feelings also, just because he/she doesn't know that yet doesn't mean that they do not exist, just like arms, a newborn doesn't know that she/he has arms but they are there. He/she can also feel pain, he/she has a soul.
Yes under certain circumstances I can understand such as rape, but if the doctor says that having this baby may kill you, I think that you should still give birth, IMO the baby's life is more important than the mothers. But if a woman and man has sex protected or not (the condom could break, if protected) it is still their responsibility, just because they are not ready doesn't mean that they have a right to murder a innocent child, they could give him/her up for adoption. There is hundreds of thousands of people that cannot have children and would give anything for one, they will be more than happy to adopt. Another thing about adoption is that if you would like you can still stay in close contact with the child. I say this out of personal experience, I got pregnant when I was 16 and had plenty of people offer to pay for an abortion, but I said no, the doc told me that I might have some major medical problems if I went through with it including a possibilty of death. I now am 18 and have the most beautiful little girl in the world, I would not trade her for all the money, power, gold and riches in the world. REMEMBER: This is just MY opinion, it is not right or wrong.

I would try to avoid it but I'm not a woman and even if I was I don't want to make other people's choices for them.

No I am not a vegetarian. I have considerd it from time to time though, but steaks are sooooo good.......... mmmmmm steak....... LOL. But being a vegetarian has nothing to do with aborting a HUMAN fetus. Cows, chickens and pigs are going to be killed and served on a plate no matter if I eat meat or not, the number isn't going to change. But me making the choice not to abort my child will save at least one child.

Who is going to eat more meat because you don't eat it? This is just not true. Animals are killed because of everybody eating meat, you are no exception!

mmmm we're getting off-topic....

But me making the choice not to abort my child will save at least one child.

By making the choice not to eat meat you will save at least a few animals. BTW: I kill millions of potential childs every day, is that wrong?

If I make the choice not to eat meat, the meat-slaughter houses/ companies are not going to reduce the number of animals that they kill every day! By saying the number isn't going to change, in my previous post I meant the number of animals killed every day isn't going to change, it is most likely going to go up with time because of the increase of the human population.
How do you kill millions of potential children every day??

They will. Supply and demand. It's not that hard.

it is most likely going to go up with time because of the increase of the human population.

True, but if you stop eating meat it won't increase as fast as if you would still eat meat. You are responsible for killing animals. So am I, but I know I am and it's my choice. It's hypocrite to think you are not responsible and have no influence.

How do you kill millions of potential children every day??

Think about that :stoned: :smirk:

Well............ sperm??  Is that the millions of potentional children??  No that is not wrong, because it is not a child.  Nah,  companies will not reduce the amount of animals they kill every day,  they do not give a shit  if one person stops eating meat, there are thousands of people born everyday that will more than make up for me not eating it.

No that is not wrong, because it is not a child

No, it's a potential child and so is a fetus. They are totally different but I think the only point is where to draw the line: 2weeks? 8weeks? 12weeks? etc.

Nah, companies will not reduce the amount of animals they kill every day, they do not give a shit if one person stops eating meat, there are thousands of people born everyday that will more than make up for me not eating it.

well... think whatever you want, feels good for you conscience, doesn't it?

You should accept that you are responsible for killing animals if you eat meat.

I do accept that I am responsible for killing animals, because I do eat them.... when or where did I say other wise, I didn't, did I??
A fetus is not a potential child, he/she IS a child! Just because he/she is still on their mothers womb does not make him/her any less of a child than a newborn. He/she has a heart beat and brain waves. I has feelings also, just because he/she doesn't know that yet doesn't mean that they do not exist, just like arms, a newborn doesn't know that she/he has arms but they are there. He/she can also feel pain, he/she has a soul.
Sperm, on the other hand, most of them are going to be killed, that is the way it is supposed to be, why do you think that you produce so many?? Sperm has the potential of uniting with the egg and becoming a child... but the sperm itself is not a potential child, it is just sperm, nothing more. Well technally it is half of the genetic make of a child, HALF, therefore not a full child, meaningg NOT a child. There is a difference, you see?

Under certain circumstances. What if the chick is like...13-16?
Or it's a really bad time in their life to be supporting another human being...Adoption is always an option though.
