Shark or Crocodile?

If you HAD to cross with a run and jump start..... a 40X40ft. pool of water, 10ft. deep, without any weapons except your fists and feet, which would you rather have lurking in the pool? (and the creature is going to try to attack you at least once)
...a 20ft. hungry nile croc, or a 20ft. hungry great white?
why or why not?

Crocodile. They're both probably going to kill ya..but a shark lives it's whole life in the water so it has a total advantage with speed, agility etc..crocodiles aren't as much of a threat in the water because they're built for land also

Apparently it's not too hard to hold their mouths shut once they clamp down, so I'd probably take off some clothes and try to get it to bite down on them so I can grab it's mouth and keep it shut, then I'd go for the eyes I guess.

A great white is going to bite you in two, you get shock and get gobbled up.
A nile croc will bite into you then spin around and around till your rip apart.
You're not going to survive either attack so, might as well pick the easiest.
Not that I want to die, I want to live for thousands of years, but I prefer an easy death over a gruesome death.
A shark has surgical blades in his mouth, a croc pointy knobs.

Not saying anyone's right or wrong, just seeing which scares people more.

The same circumstances? a 40x40ft pool with a 20 ft beast in it? Kinda surreal!
I think survival odds are better with the shark too because they tend to examine you first, maybe a test bite in a limb, whereas a croc throws himself in the water screaming FOOD!

Not same circumstances, my bad. I'm just saying that numerous times, someone has kicked or punched both a shark and a croc, and they have both swam off. Doesn't work all the time but it has worked.
I personally would rather have the croc in the water. There's just something about a creature that can take you apart like an ice cream scoop, before you die any other way, that scares the shit out of me. I'd rather be dragged under and drown if it had to come to that.
I want to go surfing eventually, so I got to shake this off.

Let's see... 40 feet is about 13 yards, so it's roughly half the lap of a 25 yard swimming pool.
It would take me about 7 seconds to swim 13 yards back when I was on swim team, so I'm going with the gator, just because it swims a lot slower than the shark.
If I wait until the gator is by my side, and I dive in really far the same way swimmers do at a meet or a race, then I can cut my swimming time by a lot and reach the other side in only a few seconds.
Also what the hell, a 20 foot croc in a 40 foot body of water? This doesn't even sound realistic, most crocodiles are like 7 or 8 feet.
If I'm going to die for sure though, I'd rather die by shark. Fuck crocodiles, they're my most feared and hated animal, I think we should exterminate them all and eat them and make purses out of them.

I like your analysis.
I'm surprised that you'd choose croc like I would, yet if you KNEW you were gonna die, you'd choose shark.
You and Asante have some huge balls.

Not really. Sharks have a lot sharper teeth, so their bites would be more painless I feel.
Not only that, but do you know how crocodiles take down their prey? They bite a limb and then flip you around and round, usually resulting in your arm completely twisting off.

So would you rather be attacked and death-rolled by that croc, or the disco chick in the center of your picture?

Most crocs wont attack if they are well fed, sharks on the other hand will bite then swim off. I would take the croc for that reason, as well as to be in the water with a great white shark means you are far out there and nowhere to go. Atleast with the croc you can swim to land and climb a tree or run into difficult terrain for the croc to get through. THo crocs can swim and run very fast, faster than most humans. They also do not stray far from water and would more than likely give up and go back to the swamp or river. The shark is an easier death but chances of survival is far less I would imagine.

I saw a mythbuster episode where Jamie was trying to prove that you can fend off sharks by punching them on the nose when they approached you. It seemed to work very well. So I would do that.
Sharks it is!

Crocs are built for killing mammals. It's easier to defend yourself against a shark. Good punch on the nose might just give you enough time to get out. I've heard some people say you can dig your fingers in their gills too, which is about the equivalent of someone punching you in the windpipe.
