I need it. Did a total of 59 agar transfers today and felt a little off about my sterile technique. I'm using these pp5 plates that are a little deeper than the mini glad containers and as a result they had more condensation on the sides which means I have a puddle of water in most of them. These are supposed to be the final transfers before they go into jars. It's not my first grow but I feel like I could use some words of wisdom and/or some reassurance that they're not completely fucked just because of some standing water (unless of course they are, then feel free to tell me I'm fucked)

The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

You can incubate upside down to avoid condensation falling.

I thought about that too. I said I did 59 transfers today but I've really only done 33 and I'm doing the last 26 here in a few minutes. I failed to do that with the first 33 but doing it to the next 26 is a good idea. Cheers for that. Think the 33 that never got the excess water dumped are fucked? I'll still leave them of course to see what they do, but for shits and giggles what do you personally think about that ssituation?
Think it'd be a bad idea to crack a lid and dump out any excess water on the 33 I've already done?

When you say incubate, what are you referring to? The time they're sitting without any spores/cultures after pressure ccooking? The reason so much water spilled is because I had the plates stacked and accidentally knocked them over which lead to the condensation being knocked down.

The agar will absorb the excess water after a few days.

I grow hundreds of bacterial and some fungal strains every week and plates (petri dishes) are always incubated upside down for this very reason. Avoids condensation from depositing onto the agar surface, also avoids contamination if a random spore happens to fall down it lands on the surface of the lid, not the agar surface.
If you're using giant Tupperware dishes it might not work as well but, I bet it would.
