Premixed MEA not dissolving
    #23879160 - 11/29/16 06:10 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

So I have been using this premixed MEA, don't think I will purchase it again, but I can't get this shit mixed right for the life of me, the directions say dissolve into simmering water and when I do that method it clumps up so bad it's worthless, it has been working best just mixing it in the bottle with room temp water and sterilizing it but once in a while it still comes out not so great. What do guys think, any tips on dissolving this shit?

 Thanks, I will try that, I also have a rack of slants that only solidified the bottom half of the tubes with this stuff, I'm hoping another run in the pc will fix those.

My premix clumps up terribly if I put it straight in to hot water. I have to mix it in cold water then bring it to boil.

I haven't tried that yet. I just mixed some up in cool water right now and got in the PC.
I need to get some supplies and change recipes/formula anyways, I have been using this stuff a little over a year, Im sure my cultures will love it.

:whathesaid:
I sprinkle the mix over cool water in a measuring pitcher and let it swell before microwaving. Stir, microwave then stir again before pouring it into beer bottles for sterilization. If I put the mix into hot water all i get is snots.

I just got done pouring plates and it came out fine this time. I had mixed it in the media bottle with cool water, then shook the shit out of it and threw it in the PC:thumbup: This is usually what I do, but this particular premix has been hit and miss with that method:shrug:
