Gifts for people that have everything
    #23878878 - 11/29/16 04:52 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Anybody know of some gift ideas for people who are wealthy and already seem to have everything?  My father is the harderst person to shop for.  It's hard to find anything he would like or be able to use that he hasn't already got. Also he never seems to like anything people buy for him, I mean he smiles and says thanks and acts like he does and is very appreciative but I can tell he's thinking "what the heck I ll never use this remote control holder".  He's very generous and helps out anyone and I would live to get him some extravagant gift like a car or something to show my appreciation for what he does but my funds are limited so that's out of the question. I could buy him like a 200 dollar gift but I'm sure I ll see that look of uninterest he tries to hide.  In the past I have gotten him novelty items or gag gifts and that seems like the stuff he wants.  Something he can open and laugh at or perhaps something with sentimental value.

But I'm out of ideas for this Christmas.  For past christmases I've given him an extremely overt cooked hunk of brownie that my girlfriend tried to make for the family and failed.  The thing is hard as a rock and smooth like a piece of glass.  The next Christmas he wrapped it in a clothes box and gave it back to me. It was pretty fun and everyone got a kick out of it.  We did something similar a few years ago with a Clapper (clap on. Clap off).  But I'm looking to do something different this year.

Anyone have any ideas or tell me about gifts you have given to people that have it all or funny gag gifts you've given to people.  I'd like to hear from others the goofy presents they have given or received that they thought was funny.

foreverspin.com would be a neat gift.

Some kind of gift card to a place they like to eat.

food of some kind made by you, or a bakery etc...wine if they like it.

Get him booze. No matter how much booze you have, the liver never lets you hang on to it.

I agree.

Booze is kind of my go to gift for people after they hit a certain point in life, you know because when you give them a gift they might use it occasionally, they might lose it, they might break it, but booze will help them forget their problems for a brief moment in time, or possibly get laid.

A fully fruited monotub.

--------------------
How to get started in bulk:
Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker
BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box
PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek
Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series
How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs)
What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain)
Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

That's tough op. Honestly I don't buy gifts at all. Nor expect them. I buy gifts for people I care about when I don't necessarily feel i should but I want to. A random Tuesday I'll take you out to dinner. That sort of thing.

There are so many gift giving holidays. Pretty much every month. I don't really care to exchange money but not have it as most gifts I get are that. We'll shit now I have to trade money with you and I'm not even sure I want what your giving me.

I'd much rather someone spend some time with me. Not fulfill a monetary obligation. I just don't gift give.

Get him something you can do together. Golfer round of golf. Etc. If he has everything it doesn't really matter the amount of money you spend. Which sounds about right considering he kept a fried brownie for an entire year to give back to you.

That's my thoughts.

Somebodys time over things I can buy for myself if I wanted to is infinitely more valuable. Why I'm always poor and have made a shit load of money. I end up giving it all away for the most part. Money is just an object to get other objects. Pay to live comfortably.

It's no fun to eat by yourself. Things that I have aren't as fun if I have no one to share them with.

Hah I have pretty much the same view in not buying presents for people and not expecting any I somewhat wish none of the adults would exchange gifts it's almost like swapping this for that.  Usually no one wins but the companies that sell the crap.  And man almost all these ideas of done and fairly recently.  Got them gift certificates for restaurants, golf gift certificates for the best course around so we could hold together.  But no booze though,  he was a big drinker when he was younger and is pretty famous in my town for it.  But in 30 years I've seen him drink once when we went to a bowl game on together.

But still these have been good advice gets the creative juices flowing.  I'm thinking about trying to fod something that we could do together but all I can think of is golf, which I already done, or maybe football tickets!  That's something I might look into.  This thread has actually helped me get some idears.

Or maybe I ll just get the dildo.  I'd probably end up keeping it for myself though.

Thisiswhyimbroke.com is good sight to peruse for dumb shit.

You could also give him something he'll actually use - someone suggested football tickets and that's good, if he's a music person maybe look up some bands he likes and see if they're still touring, if he likes to go out to eat get him a gift certificate to a nice restaurant(that could even double as a gift for mom too if you wanna give them a nice evening out).

start with antibiotics, penicillin for the easy to deal with stuff, maybe some crab
shampoo as well, then move onto the HIV retro viral drugs and the valtrex for stuff
that cant be easily gotten rid of but can be kept under control

does ur pappy have slippers?.. like nice comfortable ones?..

does he smoke?.. if so, maybe u can get em an ashtray..

i think the trick is to look at the small stuff.. go with the little things that u know they'll probably use like every other day..

or go with something that can be used up very quickly, like sum of their favorite treats.. for example my mother got me a bag of pistachios this one time, and i love pistachios, it was a perfect gift in my eyes..

or if anything just give em a hug and tell him merry Christmas, or u can even thank him for always being their for ya..
