Lepiota fuscosquamea ?
    #23878105 - 11/29/16 12:11 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Please refer to my observation profile of this mushroom on mushroomobserver.org:

http://mushroomobserver.org/262794

Interesting are the black spots on the gills. The characters match well with Lepiota fuscosquamae, but the spores are marginally (but within the range) larger - perhaps I measured the larger and nice spores!

Hmmm...

Mycoquebec.org excellently cover both Lepiota cortinarius and the closely related L. fuscosquamea. I am finding that the shape of the spores with a higher Q, truncate apex (in some spores) and the size of 8-10um in my specimen  match quite well with L. cortinarius rather than the closely related L. fuscosquamea which has spores more broadly ellipsoid and relatively smaller (6-7um). The stipe of L. fuscosquamea is very fuzzy and tomentose while it is smoother in L. cortinarius as is in B066. Sizes of cheilocystida and basidia match well. Superficially, the pileus of both is identical and habitat in open ground under conifer trees is also good.

At the moment L. cortinarius is the best fit. Your feedback is welcomed
