Don't think this article refers to the "Family" of LSD myth. Interesting read, regardless.

It's definitely not about GD Family.  It's about a Christianity-based cult and how this girl remembers growing up in it.

I would say Christianity was the biggest issue I had to face in my life, and am still facing it when I have to talk with my family.  I cannot believe in it at all, and only want to free others from its grasp, it really is poison to the mind I think.

I remember feeling like Christianity was a lie from an early age, but I went along with it for a while because I would be ridiculed if I did not, so was easier to just remain silent, and go about life that way.

Shedding all religion from my life was the most beneficial thing I have ever done, upon doing so I could think straight, my physical performance when I exercised went up, I could comprehend things I read easier, it was like I was unlocking my full potential, this was a wake up call for me because I realized just how toxic religions can be.

I had to take the time to relearn much about myself, to deprogram myself from what I had been taught was the truth, this was a bit painful to say the least, but I have been though my trial, and have been baptized in flames, flames burning away the old, and from the ashes something new can arise.

I feel like most, not all, but most Christians lean on their deities for support, rather than working things out on their own, when they pray and don't receive what they want they get depressed, so religion is keeping many people in a negative situation, they keep praying in hopes that god will answer their prayers, they should be getting off their ass and making change happen.  When their prayers are unanswered they look for anything around them to pin their letdown on, and unfortunately this is often their loved ones that don't share the same faith, or another group of religious followers, or secular people, they blame the fact that their prayers have gone unanswered on drugs, gays, other religions, politicians, etc, thinking that they must wipe out those things and then god will hear their prayers, it's disturbing.

This is just my experience with religion though, I don't view those that practice it as less than myself, or think I am greater than anyone, I really believe it's toxic though.
