field cap is still too much water i've got some Can. west coast azures on alder chips that seem to like it a little drier than field.Chips that I steamed off a little moisture after soak via microwave, seem to be moving faster.quite possible that it could be other factors but this is what it looks like to me.

Interesting...So maybe let the chips sit and drip dry in the pillow case for a day after pasteurizing them...For the amount I'm gonna need...I dont think a microwave is feasible lol...

Thats funny when I pasteurize in a nylon or poly grain sack I take thge bag outside and swing it in circles off a small rope, and the gforces drain it well if you don't get dizzy.I am sure if someone saw me they would wonder about my sanity.I just happen to have an extra dryer laying around that might be easier. question. I have a cup of clean Azure spawn on alder shred. How fast should I try to expand.I was thinking I would double up each addition. Also I microwave small additions of spawn, thinking the myc should have an easy time with softer chow?

maple is very common here though i haven't tried it yet .It should shred a little better now that temps are low. I'm on well so I use spring water I was wondering whether I should maybe use bleach @ 1%.

I wouldn't use bleach for anything but washing clothes.
Use hydrogen peroxide instead if your going to use anything.
Bleach is fine n peroxide is useless.
