New grow... Been awhile.

Sup dudes been awhile since I have been able to grow (last Christmas). I just got into a new space and have a whole room to dedicate to mushies. Decided I would share where I am up to at this point.
These six half pint jars were inoculated with Golden Teacher and were place inside an incubator for the past 6 days.

These are three quarter pint jars that were inoc'd with Costa Ricans 10 days ago. They were just put up on shelf in the closet. I have two more jars of these left with no contam. Just waiting on visual not sure why they are laggin behind but, meh.

Here is my incubator: bottom is my glove box, top is my SGFC lid.

Hope to make it through to fruiting this Christmas and keep everyone updated on the progress. If everything goes well I plan on some monotubs in the near future. Thanks!

As long as the brf is really clean you will be fine heating it up like that, I used to have to use a tub in tub incubator to keep my stuff warm in the winter. Any more I am fine with the 72ish degrees it sits at. All in all you look good man keep up the good work.

What is the average temp in the room you are using?
Derp. I'm a tard.
You shouldn't need an incubator for 72 degree closet.

I wouldn't say that you NEED it, but the GT's sure seem to be liking it. The main reason I have it is... while I say the average is 72...
I do turn my temp down when I leave for work and it will drop to 60 in the closet so...

Having great colonization, why would I mess with anything at this point? If it isn't broken... etc.

Because, especially being inside that tub, over time water will collect under the foil and seep down into the dry verm layer. Up to you I guess but the agreed upon method is to colonize without the foil. It's only there to keep water out of the jar when sterilizing.

I keep hearing this over and over again. Foil is no bueno.

You are assuming that I only have the single layer of foil.. but it is just placed on loosely. Underneath I have a tight fitting piece of foil with the cap tightened over and a single hole in the middle with cellulose filters underneath.
Everyone has their methods and will stick to them... same for cannabis cultivation.
I have always been able to colonize successfully with foil on top. But thanks for trying to be helpful, nevertheless.

So your lids are the 2nd piece of foil?
nice wallpaper btw
And you don't gotta sound all condescending. The info I am giving you is widely accepted as the best way of doing things. I'm not saying your way won't work, but especially with cellulose filters, you don't need foil on top.

Don't try to put it on me, you came into my thread remember! You are giving me information that is redundant to the fact of success in my pictures.
But I do agree that is the way most people go, but I like do things differently. Different from the pack. Without deviation from the norm progress is not possible.
Yet again I will commend you on giving me something to type out exercise is always good.
Yes bro, the wallpaper is perfect for tripping.

You do you, continue your "progress" into antiquated techniques.

Thanks Tmethyl!
I think I agree with the statement of the only trusted cultivator to comment yet.
