overlay basically doesn't happen to cubensis

KSSS doesn't colonize "fast as fuck", it just so happens that you had quick colonization. KSSS has absolutely zero to do with the colonization time. it's just a name on a syringe. you have 100s of strains of KSSS some of them are faster and some of them are slower.

Quote:

used 2 half pints of coln rye approx 10 oz combined,
and cased using 50/50 mix of sphagnum moss/vermiculite-
Quote:

did you just case the grain, or did you mix the grain with the moss/verm? usually you make a substrate(coir or poo) then mix the substrate and spawn together, this is called spawning to bulk. then you can apply a casing layer to your bulk substrate that you made by mixing spawn+sub. alternatively you can just put a casing on your grain spawn but that's an old technique that doesn't yield nearly as well

pasturized and cased under a sab.
Quote:

if you pasteruize you can use your bare hands. The SAB is for sterile work like inoculations once your spawn is fully colonized you can open it up anywhere and touch it with hands

In less than 3 days of incubating,  it colonized abt 65% of casing surface, so i imiediatley, introduced fruiting conditions,  fae-light, i read that once casing is showing begening strands poking through the cased surface its good to introduce fc and that once u get the timing down perfect that there shoudent be any colonized myceliun poking through just fat caps,
Quote:

ehhh sounds like that's just one person's way of doing things. sounds like old info too. but it's mostly right

ive also read its good to let pins get 1-2 cm in length i think it was before introducing fc, so am i doing it wrong by what i did? By giving it fc before the appripiate 1-2cm pin size?
Quote:

that's another way of doing things too

and on the side note,  ive also heard letting bulk substrares consolisate gives better pinset surface area as its breaking down all those remainder npk n makes 4 more potent caps,
Quote:

potency is genetic. each two spores of any variety of cubes you grow makes a strain, if you use spores you have 100s of strains and some will be shit some excellent. hence why good growers get into agar to isolate potent strains. the potency is all through the mushroom, the caps are not stronger then the stems is the popular consensus there's one old shitty research paper that says caps are slightly more potent but I don't believe it. I've seen no good evidence that consolidation means more potency but some people have.

Ive also read along time ago,  caps vs stems only really vary in pillicin n pilociben percentages/properties so to say more of a head high-body high.. But idk

Ill check em out,
Its just difficult as some threads are ancient so to say and get different perspectives... But like they say theres many ways too milk a cat. Im just looking for optimal results,
