Thank you so much, I was looking around to see if the remaining waste could be a hydrocarbon.
"The mycelium of oyster mushrooms produces enzymes that break hydrogen-carbon bonds, which are the bonds that bind hydrocarbons together. The enzymes re-manufactured with the hydrocarbons into carbohydrates." -- Source
Regardless I am using it as a pH buffer, seems to be the better option.

The King oyster tissue sample has fully started growing out. Two more days then the spores go into the fridge.

24 hours ago I dug up a 14 month old Golden oyster WL-Tek block. I put it into CaCO3 water to clean. The water is full of waste, and the samples are growing, the whole tub stinks of fungus.
I will change the water a few times them take it to WL-Tek as agar.

It obviously had a build up of waste which inhibited it.

I guess rain and drainage would otherwise allow for waste removal.

By the way, 8ml of sucrose water and 2ml of enrichment tek germinated a random mold at 12°C in 2-3 days. I will attempt to replicate the setup with cyan spores instead, using a clean setup (SAB).

I did 9% sucrose (2g sucrose to 20g water), this suggests both soluble nutrients and energy, along side ample water content, activate spores. After these conditions are met the are further factors to consider, the temperature they germinate (close to fruiting temperatures). The minimum and maximum pH the spores can germinate, the test mold germinated at pH 6.5 - 7.

I rinsed my Golden oyster samples, then removed areas of old-aged mycelium. The remaining good samples where placed into another container.
The interior growth was fresh and is strong smelling.

I was just asked by another member if vegetable waste is beneficial.
Here is part of my reply:
"Yes very beneficial, they add nutrients and organic nitrates. Those products count as "greens" in composting. Here is a link to the Carbon-to-Nitrogen ratio, below the information there is a data chart."
I believe wood loving types can vary slightly but around a 100:1 or 200:1 ratio.
Add your chosen amount to wood, card, paper and sterilize.

Here is the King oyster stunt to WL-Tek + compost powder. It has full strength. Not only does it have full strength but it's also accelerating.

The aerial mycelium blew over when I opened the lid. Potent gorgeous smell. You can identify the mycelium purely by the smell, totally unique.
Here is the wood peg I will send you.

How to make a transfer pot with egg carton and toothpicks. For clones, spawn etc.

When the pegs are colonized remove and replace.

Here I am boiling hot water bathing my transfer pot. It's also possible to staple the four sides.

Nice idea! Did the cardboard hold up in boiling water? Since they are made by vacuum forming with a paper slurry.
You can also inoculate a PCéd jar full of sticks with a clean culture I guess. I know commercial shiitake blocks here in Europe are (often/sometimes?) inoculated with a colonized stick instead of grain spawn, I guess for automated machinal filling. The sticks are longer and thinner than a standard log dowel btw.

It's just a cheap-basic and easy way to transfer, it will also restrict growth to cellulose decomposers. The setup has a surface which has air both sides, so anaerobic bacteria should fail to grow.
Yes the whole setup worked even without staples, although I suggest with staples. Add blue-tack to the bottom if you need better upright stability or weight.
Excess water can be microwaved off, about 40-60 seconds. However I left mine and the excess falls down.
Also, measure your container, lol !!
