Thats not odd right? As a 28/male?
My older brother had a baby girl about 3 month old and my mom is neurotic about the fact i havent held her yet. She ALWAYS brings it up when we are all around even though i tell her it makes me uncomfortable as fuck being called out.
And like trying to force/shame me into the stituation like the ignorant manipulative bitch that she typically is (towards everyone in the family in multiple/worse other ways too), makes me not want to do it even more to spite her.
She's so small and fragile and honestly i feel uncomfortable which my bro said he understands. And its not like i didnt interact with the baby, and you know like hold her little hand and talk sweet etc. i just didnt pick her up.
Its new to me i was always the baby in my family and ive never really had babies around me to take care of ever. My one psychotic obsessed with me cousin got me to hold her baby by forcing it on me one time. That was the first and only time i held a baby.
I actually googled the subject and one response i liked on reddit- Whenever anyone would try to ask/force this guy to hold their baby he'd say "oh no im sorry ive been trying to quit," while shuffling off somewhere else. Lol
I just dont like to hold babies and i guess that confuses some people/mothers.

You've made the right decision OP.
Holding someone else's baby is an insurance liability.

Well its not quite like I'm so frightened that i have a complex but its just something that i prefer not to do especially when a baby is still so super young/small

Mid thirties and ive only knowingly held one a couple times in my life. Once held one for this divorced mom I had a two day relationship with, and once for a friend so she could go to her neighbors and grab me an eightball.
Those things carry more pestilence and disease than carrion birds, I believe it's best to stay away unless the prize outweighs the risk.

I'm 32 and refuse to hold babies, they don't bounce. Have held one only once in my life I think.

They probably bounce, but only once.
I suggest you don't test this theory.
I'm not into holding other peoples babies. I'd hold my own though. I'd probably fuck it up somewhere along the way in its life anyway so why not.

Fuck that. Babies arent cats, if you drop them they die. I wouldnt even be comfortable holding my own baby (if i had one) while standing.

They make little baby helmets for them and then it is safer to drop them.

If you drop someone else's baby just yell "IT'S JUST A PRANK BRO!" and the baby won't receive any injuries and you won't receive any lawsuits and you'll be internet famous.

kids are surprisingly springy and flexible. They can indeed bounce. source: niece + steps at the beach. (she's fine)
