Gourmet Monotub?
    #23873309 - 11/27/16 08:16 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone every tried growing any Gourmet Mushrooms using the Monotub tek?

I read that Cinnamon Caps (Hypholoma Sublateritium) are very similar to Psilocyben. Further reading they pin well in high CO2 it gave me the idea to try them out in a monotub style, I'm sure they will do very well.

Has anyone tried any other mushrooms in monotubs that I can give a try?

A ton of people grow reishi in monotubs.

Ganoderma do well in monotubs. I also did enoki in mini monos and they did decent. I believe MudaFuka also did enoki in a full size mono as well. Hamloaf did oysters in a mono with open holes but I believe he was fruiting them in a climate controlled room. I just spawned a foolhardy mini mono the other day, if it turns out I will post it here.

Awesome. Yea I actually tried Reishi mono but it kept getting contam.. maybe bad spawn, I will try again.

For Reishi, how can I make them pin well? I have a few growing now but there are only one or two pins per bag/block.

They like high humidity, 70-80° and lots of light

Can be done, with no lid, and lots of holes. I used a foldable crate and 80 liter clear bag.
Crate in the bag, slots everywhere, a slot across the top, wood to support.

Once pinning occurs open the top flaps and remove the wood.

I'm trying Kings in a mini mono but not enough FAE to pin.  I just keep opening up more holes.

I pin my kings before fruiting, so I assume with a king montub it would be best to pin it sealed up, then a shit ton of FAE. Also cold conditions initiates pinning with kings as well.

Thats what I did with my Gold, mostly closed until tubers (pinning), then open her right up.

I didn't think of that.  I just fruited after the tub was colonized.  Thanks for the advice.

My bad I forgot to ask if you cased them. If you case your kings you can pin them with FAE, BUT they still need the colder temps to initiate it.
