Few agar questions

So I have a few agar questions I have made a total of 3 batches of pasty plates.
1) I'm having issues with condensation, I follow the tek using a papertowel folded up and foil. I try to raise and lower heat slowly by raise heat level by 1 to 1.5 every 5 mins or so. Tops have 1/4 inch hole with pore tape. Any suggestions to reduce it hard to see growth and take pics.
2) how big should the mycelium be before transfers are made?
3) it seems the first transfer I did has no contams but all the ms to agar has some forms of bacteria, is that normal for transfers to be cleaner vs ms to agar (thinking some of the bacteria may be from condensation)
Thanks for any input, I wish I can post pics of the plates but camera probably won't focus through the condensation

1) Haven't tried Pasty Plates, but the only thing I can think of to minimize condensation would be for them to cool as slowly as possible. Leave them in the PC until room temp. Most of the condensation should absorb back into the agar with time. Sometimes three days. Maybe a week, or more. It just depends. 2) Dime or quarter size is fine.
3) MS to agar can be a crap shoot. I guess its normal for transfers to be more clean than your MS inoculated plate. Ideal might be a better word. Transferring healthy myc from a contaminated plate might take a couple times to clean up, but transfers from healthy plates should remain clean provided sterile conditions are optimal. Bacteria does not come from condensation. Contamination of cultures is the result of using contaminated inoculants, and or poor sterile practices.

1) I feel like I do bring it down slowly. As soon as the weight starts to move I drop the temp from about 7 to 5 then about halfway through the timer I drop it again to about 4 then when it's done I lower it to 2 then about 5 to 10 mins later I turn it off. And I let it cool over night.
2)ok ty
3)can't bacteria be in the condensation on the inside walls of the plates? I know ms is a crapshoot, so I expect some bacteria but I feel like the excess water inside might contribute to some of the bad stuff. Does the consistency of the agar matter f9r water absorption cause the last batch I made was really firm

Also I have had plates for over a week and they never fully absorb the droplets, and the ones on the walls never evaporated. Would there be any benefit to have a fan on them f9r a little or would that mess up the agar

Put a cup of hot water on top of the petri or pastyplate. The condensation should go away within a few minutes.
Don't put a fan on them.

should I boil the water or micro wave it and should I keep the papertowel on to or just leave the micro tape exposed

Not boiling hot, just hot to the touch. I'm not super familiar with pastyplates but just directly on top of whatever dish you're using.

Hmm I'll try that out thanks for that bit of advice I haven't seen that posted anywhere.
