Here are the active ingrediants, and relative melting points: Catechins (175 °C), Tannins (200 °C), Theaflavins (240°C), Theanine (174 °C). As you can see they can be pressure cooked with no issues and remain active after the cooking process.

Here is a spent black tea bag (3g) enriched with grain flour (3g), and fertilizer (1g). Cooked for 2 minutes. The bacteria grew after 24 hours, stalled, hardened and has been like that for 4 weeks.
Here is the nearly 50/50 spent tea and grain.

Can take images at any point.
----
Here is T-Gel enriched with the same fertilizer.

Here is normal T-Gel after 4 hours.

Here is the same sample a few days later.

Rescued from trich too in this case.

Here is T-Gel limed to Ph6.

No bacteria, same spawn.

These are all well and good but it's not really conclusive in terms of actual application in the hobby. For instance without actual grows completed there is no way to see if there are unintended benefits or drawbacks. What kind of costs are we looking at? I make a nopour plate for about how much do those tgel/plant ferts/teabag plates cost?
While it may seem like the mush cult regs like to just crush dreams the fact is that at the end of the day they just don't have patience for unproven junk science. Burden of proof is on the presenter. Come back with some real results and I bet you see a warmer reception.

I think if the thread was named "working towards antibacterial grains" the whole kerfuffle about claims would be baseless. It's great you are doing the work and sharing, but folks were wanting to come in here and bingo, no more bacteria.
Maybe they have the right to be disappointed but are going overboard in their ire. It's not like you are getting paid for your experiments, so screw em.

They might seem over top but when you see how many times people have come in over the years with this exact same idea and done nothing with it you can see why they lose patience quickly.

you gotta remember us regulars here try and help people grow mushrooms daily, it gets real tiresome having to explain over and over why some random TEK they found on the search engine doesnt work.
So its just way easier to speak up right in the TEK and tell everyone right away what's wrong with it or how it really should be done. And that way maybe there wont be so many new TEKs that just dont hold merit.

I get it. However, welcome to getting older. There are always new people with the same questions. So, you might as well get used to it. they ALWAYS regenerate.
