Mescaline extraction

Hi. Its my first post, but i'm a long time fan of this site. A lot of you are genuine and know what they are talking about. I would like to give something back. I just harvested 11.5 kg of peruvian torch. It was a little project i started a 5 years ago. Now i'm ready to do an A/B extraction. The main chemicals will be lye, citric acid and toluene. I expect a yield of around 0.1%. I will start with a freeze, then continue with 3 one hour boils of the cacti plant matter. I will extract every boil seperately, to see what is the yield after every boil. Are there any tests or questions I can do/answer for you? I'm trying to advance the knowledge about mescaline extractions. Because there are a lot of myths and its not clear which are correct. Results will be posted in this thread.

Hmmm , im not sure if you can view the chemistry forum, but you would probably get alot of good help on that subforum, im sorry i have never a/b extract mescaline ive only done the isopropyl alchohol extract so im of no help, very intrested to see where this thread goes

I am interested in seeing how much you get from the 2nd and 3rd pull, neat.

Hi there.
Have you ever performed any sort of extraction before? An a/b-extraction requires knowledge and experience to get satisfying results.
It would be a shame to lose significant ammounts of material that took years to grow because of one failed extraction..
But it seems that you know what to do, so have fun and post the results!

11kg wet or dry? I recommend the 69ron dry tek for dried cacti material.

I'm going to do a variant on the easy three step mescaline extraction technique found on this forum. On dried material yield was around 1%. This time it is wet. I expect a yield of around 0.1%. An extraction on the core material will be done seperately, because it is said to not contain any mescaline. If possible I will do the same with the waxy skin.

Hey guys! I'm in the middle of cooking down about a cord of Pedro myself. I haven't decided if i'll go full extraction or just the aqueous route. I feel like it's a more complete experience with all the possible actives left in.
I am coring it pre-cook down, or at least mostly coring it depending on the diameter and if it's mostly dedicated or not.
I've done a few a/b extractions. I'll be watching.
NOTE: extracting every boil separately is going to be WAY more work (and way more chances to dissolve shit you don't want dissolved with the toluene. I use Xylene btw)
have fun! Be careful.

waxy skin = more chances of feeling a little unsettled in the stomach, sometimes promoting vomiting.

bro what the fuck, do you think this is the random identifying thread?? Make your own goddamn thread in the "Mushroom Hunting & Identifying" location of the forums.

a little update.
I processed 5 kg Peruvian torch. I did 4, 2 hour boils, decanted and reduced the volume to around 1l. The leftover cactus material was put in the freezer to re-extract if a reasonabe quantity is extracted from the 4th boil. In the first and second boil, i added 40gr NaOH (= 1 mole) each. the goal is a Ph of >13. Then 200ml of toluene was added. Now they will be shaken up for a few days.
and because pictures make everything more interesting:
 all my peruvian torches
All the boils. Notice how the first is darkest. Second is lightest, because i didn't agitate during the boil.

From my own experience, I'd be adding at least 3x that amount of NaOH. The look of the interface between the liquids becomes almost like a mirror when you really have that pH up there. If you can see and almost taste that mesc as a golden liquid... IMO and E it's not going to give up the goods. It'll look clear when it's high enough. again, that's just my experience.
Have fun and be safe

haha that's too funny
btw good luck on the extraction. I will be following as I am a big fan of san pedro, but to me I have a smooth time simply doing a clean brew so I never really thought much of doing a pure mescaline extraction, I am still interested though.
