Celebrities often change their names, but that is usually because to be a member of the screen actors guild , you must have a unique name different from anyone who is - or has ever been - a member.

Feels weird having the same name as other people, way too many pipsqueaks have the same name as I. Makes me feel less special, but can also be a humble thing once u get over it.. Im like a ninja.

I say not at all, it's your being.
What if your parents gave you a Christian name, but you didn't like what Christianity stood for and wanted a cool pagan Scandinavian name, then fuck yeah you get yourself a cool pagan name.

I've heard of that, but do you have to do a legal name change in order to use it as your screen name?
I worked with a couple of native guys who said that everyone from their reserve had to have a unique first name. The one guy's name was actually Justin but everyone called him Curtis because there was already a Justin.

My last name has a typo in it on my birth certificate and some of my other ID, a space where there isn't supposed to be one. I've thought about trying to correct it but I'm not sure if there's some kind of short-cut process that's simpler than a full-out name change.

My grandpa hated his middle name, Logan, so much that he legally changed it to the letter L. I've been wanting to change my first name to the letter J. but my moms said she would be pissed. She named me after the lead singer of The Moody Blues.

Diana Ross's real name was Diane but it was misspelled on the Supreme's first album's liner.....so she stuck with it.

No. Why is it shameful? It's practically customary for half the population to change their name when they get married.
I changed my name legally a few times over the course of my life. I like my new name a lot better, and I noticed I get a lot more call backs on resumes too. The first thing people comment on when they meet me is how much they love my name. I feel like it's changed my whole aura and how people approach me.

He was spanish/ Cuban I believe with maybe a bit of mexican/ central American.
I didn't realize what his real name was as I had heard it pronounced jesuse or something and people all called him Jesse but I saw it written down once and had a WTF moment
Sadly he died when I was very young so I have no memory of meeting him but I can tell we have a lot in common as he was an old school hippie who was way into arts/music and a lot of stuff I love.
