Possible reishi identification?

Hello, new here. Recently i found this specimen in my raccoons habitat. He ate almost half of it(the whole specimen was approximately 8-9inches in diameter) and didnt eat a thing all day after that until the next day. So far he looks in good shape, its been 3 weeks now and he is his same old self energic and full of spunk. The mushroom was growing on a dead lime tree trunk, the trunk is actually from an old tree that died off from internal rot and termites, thats why i decided to use it as a temporary(the wood is hard still, just decay on outer "skin")fence post for my buddys habitat. The base of the trunk just above the ground would have a puddle everytime it rained, so it was constantly soaking. The mushroom is white on the bottom and has very small pores similar to some types of coral i would say, my camera isnt very good so i cant really show the bottom. The smell is very similar to regular white mushrooms you get at the store but a bit stronger without any stink to it just regular generic mushroom bold smell. The photo isnt that great and mind you this was a very dirty specimen before i took the photo the dirt, dead fibers and raccoon hair you can see in the image is fused into the mushroom so i took some samples from the inside of the mushroom and am trying to clone it in some BRF cakes mixed with coir.........hehehehe im pretty sure there is too much contamination but what the heck, i will share my results if there is a positive outcome on that hand. Now on the other hand, lets get down to the question............. does anybody think this specimen is a Reishi(Ganoderma Lucidum) mushroom? please share your thoughts on this, if any, Best Regards to the lot of ya!

No I think it's closer to a trametes or turkey tail myself. The pic in my sig is a piece of fine gemmy fire obsidian that I dug a few years ago.

Certainly. This is not in the ganoderma genus at all.

Thanks a bunch guys! too bad its not a reishi, will have to import a spore print from somewhere, here in mexico its impossible to find a good spore source for medicinal and gourmet mushrooms....sigh......i mean you can find tons of Psybes all over the country but when it comes to other varieties cant find jack.......oh well.

It's a trametes, and don't bother with spores. Just wait a couple months, makes some posts, and sooner or later you'll be allowed into the marketplace forum where you can just trade for a proven culture or someone may even be down to just send you one.
Be patient!

Also, trametes and turkey tails have their own medicinal benefits, so don't consider it a total loss!

It would be helpful to see the other side of your specimens.
You can find turkey tails in great abundance all year long, they grow like weeds, and are medicinal.
Use Kuo's page to see the way to tell that you have true turkey tails.

Thanks Natedawgnow! really appreciate the info, ill start reading up on what you said and will be patient hehehehe. Im actually very happy that its an edible medicinal kind..........cause it just popped up by itself, so hopefuly i can get a better specimen in the next few months from the same trunk and properly clone it, thanks again.
Also to Fennario please check the pics in the new thread:
