oyster question

Any idea why this happened? They be splittin' like this:

Just happened to one cluster as far as I can tell. Lime pasteurized straw.

Obvious lack of oxygen here, this little guy apparently doesn't quite cut it: for this size of a box:

Added a fan to compensate and upped the humidifier strenght.

Nice buckets! Split caps need higher humidity I believe like. Good job.

Weird, I had the RH at 99% for the entire time of colonization (same box) and fruiting. It's a bit lower on the pic because I opened the flap to take shots. I suppose it could have dropped down to 72ish a few times because I was sloppy with changing water in the humidifier, but that's about it.

Way to go; Those have great color!  Any supplementation?

Really nice grow

I think your greenhouse is perfect, but don't trust these digital hygrometers too much. Most of them can't read above 80 and then just round up on 99!

Regards

No supplementation, just lime straw.

And yeah, saying I know what the actual RH is is a bit of a stretch when measured with a 5€ hygrometer hehe. Best make further adjustments by "feel".

The splitting doesn't seem to be happening again, so whatever it was, I seem to have fixed it in time for the second cluster to be unaffected (the split one was the first to pin/fruit). :crazy2:.

I grow my oysters in open air, no Fruiting chamber and with normal RH. My house is even a bit dry I think.

Of course I have to spray them twice oder three times a day with water and fan a bit, but oysters are very restistant against bad circumstances I think.
