ID on these mushrooms, first time picking
    #23870030 - 11/26/16 06:34 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Could anyone identify these? I just picked them on a hike in Oregon.
Found in a grassy section of woods, near other small leafy plants.

Doesn't seem to be attached except a small bit right at the top of the stem.

Varying sizes, very slightly slimy with bumps on the top. Purpleish brown caps.

with white gills I can tell you they aren't active at least.

dunno if thats what you're hoping for or not

So any white gills are inactive? The larger ones have purplish-brown gills.

cut the cap off of the stem and place it gills down on some paper or foil for 12 hours to see the true color of the spores. putting a glass over the cap as it sits there will prevent it from drying out too much

this will help other people ID it for you
