Is this Cotton Mould?
    #23869917 - 11/26/16 06:05 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I saw this on a tray of pans this morning two days after a heavy misting.  I did this as I forgot to dunk my colonised tray before casing.

Does it look like mould or myc?
If so will simply taking the tray out of the fruiting chamber prevent cross-contamination?

Cheers

That looks like mold. Maybe cobweb?

Edit: If so, toss.

Yea that's mold, not sure if it's cobweb though.

Alright, thanks for the feedback.  Do you guys dunk a colonised tray before casing?

If I forgot to I would not over flood (saturate) the casing.

I can't tell from the pic, but if it's cobweb, you'll know in hours -as it will grow 5-10x times it's size.

I don't think there's a need of dunking the colonized tray before casing, and you do not need to compensate by misting a lot.  Cobweb loves high humidity and low FAE.  When dealing with cobweb, lots of fresh air is your friend.

And yes, taking the tray out of the FC would be a wise step and will prevent further cross contamination.

Alright, thanks.  It is a 50/50 verm, peat casing, so hope this is okay.  Will try and keep the substrate moist, casing drier for pans
On My last successful pan grow, I didn't dunk the grains, colonised tray before casing or heavy mist either.  Things were looking dry, but maybe that is the best method?
Thanks for your help  I scrapped the tray.
