Wild Oyster mushroom? - Michigan

Habitat: It was growing on dead wood, most likely old poplar wood.
Gills: Gills thin, white, creamy colored in age. Decurrent down on a very short stem.
Stem: Off-center stem on a shelf-like cap. Very short.
Cap: See pictures, color is creamy or faint tan.
Spore print color: Attempted spore print, the print was either white or they are not producing spores. I ran my finger along the gills, there was no colored spore discharge. I believe one of the caps had some white on it, but it was moist to the point the white was part of the cap, and not powdery, making it hard to tell. So ??? for spore print, but if I had to guess I would guess white.
Bruising: Did not notice bruising.
Other information: Smell of anise. Also smells moist, like they are wet like a fish, so a seafood anise smell would best describe it.
I can shine a light at them, and they are translucent, the light shines through the mushrooms clearly.
It's late fall here in michigan, temps around 40F+.

Are there any poisonous lookalikes? I am aware of the Galerina mushroom that grows on wood with brown spores. I believe I have seen that in the woods even, and this is not it. But I wanted to know if this was an oyster, and if there are any look alikes that would be poisonous?

the book photos will have a lot of blueish grey photos for oysters... but it needs to have a white or faint lilac print according to the books. If it was a brown print or something, it's not an oyster.

Just for reference if anyone views the post.
Poisonous look-alikes for the oyster mushroom is basically the angel wing mushroom.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleurocybella_porrigens
It is eaten by a lot of people, but there were about 60 deaths in Japan during 1 year related to this mushroom. Weak kidneys seem to be the cause, plus an abundance of a toxin in that year's harvest.
