Going to grain and just got some supplies.
So far this is what I have just bought
Big bag of wild bird seed. Big bag of verm Blocks of coco coir Quart jars
Already have.
PC Containers for sub Fruiting chamber Tyvek Silicone Spore syringes and honey LC.
Need to get.
PH adjuster/buffer for casing. What is available in my area is, Big bags of horticulture lime, felt kind of granular, reptile calcium carbonate sand, crushed oyster shell for chickens. And I have on hand food grade Dietemaciouse Earth powder. I was wondering if the DE could be used in place of any other buffers or which of the others available would be best.
I feel pretty confident doing this and know how to avoid contams. I need a SAB but that won't be an issue. My fruiting chambers have always been an aquarium or ice chest with angled plexi, a container of water with 50w heater and bubbler to give proper enviroment.
So what am I overlooking?

PC Containers for sub Fruiting chamber Tyvek Silicone Spore syringes and honey LC. don't inoculate LC with spores unless you like to waste your spores. unless you use agar to inoculate your LC don't bother with LC. Use your spores right to grain.

I wouldn't bother using a casing layer your first time around.

Ok got it. New fruit chamber. One thing though my house stays cold in the mid 60s and the bubbler+heater setup has kept the temps in low 70s and humidity high. So what type of chamber would you guys suggest for putting pans of colonized sub in and maintain proper temp in a cold house? I do have a small shop that I could heat but it is running at 50% and lower RH all the time because of what I have stored in it.

whats the most recent tek you are following/going by?
im only asking because your approach reminds me of teks back when i first started out. things like 'aquarium or ice chest with angled plexi' and bubbler heaters..
take it from me.
trash all that shit.
you need to build a SAB for proper inoculation(you got covered ) and for a chamber go with a mono tub. or you can do a mono with trays(pans?) inside.
 or do mini monos!

the older 'pans(trays?) inside a chamber' approach works.. but not as well.

LC's and ph buffers for casings and bubbler heaters all distract from the real basics. like proper conditions for fruiting(FAE!!) focus on FAE. mid 60s is coldish but thats my house right now and if anything maybe it will slow things down a bit. no biggie.

I've only done PF cakes in aquarium and ice chest fruit chambers and it was 9-10 years ago last time i did it and always had success. Monotubs sound like a good direction. I also have an ultrasonic humidifier that I can use but don't really think I need that.
What about a SGFC for trays? And could river rock replace the perlite? I have a lot of river rock.

Ok so thinking mono tubs it will be and I will put them in my shop with 6500k flouro shop light and use a small space heater to keep shop temps around 70 degrees. Seems simple enough.
