San Pedro growing conditions

I bought a San Pedro Grow Kit and I have 7 little babies growing:

The instructions say that I shouldn't expose it to direct sunlight within the 1st year. But I find that hard to believe since these plants grow on very sunny places. I keep the box on the floor beneath a heater. I'm actually worried, that it doesn't get enough light, since the winters in my region are very dark.
What would you do?

I also have the chance to put it in a grow room in a vegetative phase with 400W Lights. If that's a better condition, let me know. Though I'm wondering that this might result in a contamination.

they definitely need light but not full sun that grow light sounds basically perfect if it's not too close, bring them in for a couple of hours and if they start to turn red back them off from the light until the next day do this for about a week until they are acclimated to it as they get bigger you can bring the light closer to them

Ok I have a bunch of questions
What if they are in a room near the window on a sunny day. Is that too much? What if they are directly in front of the window on a cloudy day. Too little? How come a cactus is sensitive to direct sunlight in a seedling stage? Direct sunlight is inevitable in their natural habitat, right?
That grow room has a 16/8 cycle. Do I even have to take them out at night? The lights will be around 1m above them and will move upwards from now on. Does that sound good? In 2-3 weeks my grow room will have 600W lights and a 12/12 cycle. Is that fine? What do you mean they will turn red? I've tried to find that in pictures with no success. I can't imagine them to turn red. If they don't turn red I'll just leave them in the room right? Can the San Pedro be a source of contamination in the grow room?
Thank you!

A seedling sprouting in habitat isn't laying out receiving full sun, but probably shaded by other plants, debris. Even as adults they can attain their best growth with a mix of full sun and bright shade.
600w for seedlings is enough to do 40 trays?! For their first few months, 15-20w a square foot can be sufficient.
San pedro won't be a source of contamination for anything else.
Cacti seedlings respond to light with colour changes and we can use that to gauge if more or less is needed. When light is too bright they will darken, go red, and stunt growth. When light is insufficient, they will go pale, and stretch, hoping to find brighter light (etiolation).
Also they go purple when cold

Hi
I don't know if I am on the right post but it has the newest entries about the san pedro so here goes.
I'm new on the forums and actually subscribed 5 minutes ago although I've been reading the forums for years. I recently ingested mescaline for the first time and became an instant fan. I started reading up on the san pedro cactus and to my disbelief I found this cactus growing wildly on a friends farm in South Africa. I would just like the experts on this plant to confirm to me that it is actually the san pedro cactus. Fast responses would be appreciated as I'm heading to the coast in a few days and would like to trip balls while on vacation. Thanks

I know the image is a bit blurry. Ill ask my friend to take a new one if this one is too blurry.

Hi the redz
Sorry for not making a new thread, I don't know how or it seems I can't. My friend sent me some pictures if you dont mind looking at them to identify the cactus. I'll learn to use shroomery better in the future, it's just hard now as I only have my mobile phone.

Update:
I started the grow more than 4 months ago.
This is how they look now:

What do you think?
Is that slow progress?

Look good to me. I started some around the same time and that batch look to be about the same size.
Personally, I would dry it out a bit and possibly aerate the shop a bit to get rid of the algae growth. I have mine acclimated to more arid conditions already

I'm about to sow some trichocereus seeds... Does anyone know what kind of spacing I should give them?

Thank you, now I feel more confident about my grow.
How long would you let them sit without the lid to stop the algae growth?

If I were you, I would gradually poke holes in the lid, day by day, and start to harden them off to drier air. What is the climate like where you life? Is it generally pretty humid?

They can easily handle the air, atleast here in northern europe. I doubt you even need to acclimatize them much. (don't take my word for it tho)
My trichs last year kept on sprouting uncovered in a sunny windowsill just beeing misted once or twice daily, having the top surface pretty much get dry in between. So you do need to be watering more often by taking off the lid.
Established seedlings like this will handle some drought though probably
