Gulf Coast casing not pinning.
    #2386830 - 02/28/04 04:51 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

18 days after I put it in the mini greenhouse and still nothing. The casing is WBS cased with coco coir, no incubation, well misted for 3-4 days after casing layer was applied, patch cased, 20-22?C, 92% RH, cool mist humidifier, manually fanned once everyday, indirect sunlight.

Hm, might just be a slow pinner, those 20-24 days that you can sometimes spend feel like the longest ones ever. Is the casing surface fully colonized, if not, what % would you say it is colonized?

Maybe a cold shock would do some good.

Maybe, but isn?t 20-22?C not enough cold shock considering the WBS was incubated at 30-32?C ? I thought a 10?C drop of temperatures was enough to induce pinning.

A 10 degree drop should be enough to induce pinning, but as Alounacara has posted, no incubation will set the project back a bit.

Got any pics of this casing?

OK, I will, but I never incubate my casings and didn?t take that long with other strains.
