Move to Cambodia to Teach English. An absolute nightmare!

So as the title states, I moved to Cambodia back in October 2016. It's VASTLY different from Western societies. The teaching jobs aren't as plentiful as I thought. I chose Cambodia because the barrier to a business or E Visa is none. I flew in from NYC and got a 30 day E Visa and then renewed it for a full 1 year, which gives me multiple entry ability to go into neighboring ASEAN nations such as Thailand or Burma. I'm honestly in limbo right now because I'm living in hotels. I can get an apartment for $250 per month with AC, cable, Wi-Fi, but electricity would be an added expense. I am left with few options. Stay here and find some sort of employment in a different sector; fly back to the US which would exhaust my funds, I have no car as well. Go to Thailand to investigate, but the Visa is a nightmare. People routinely need to do border runs, but I maybe able to use that 1 year multi entry Visa as a loophole. The other option is flying to Europe, but the cost of everything skyrockets. Cambodia is so cheap! It's also very corrupt and when I say corrupt, not US style corruption.... Hardcore. Take a look at this Cambodian news post about the Hun Sen Family http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/inside-hun-familys-business-empire
Thoughts please

Phnom Pehn is like one of the world's foremost child sex trafficking areas, and you're living there?

seems like you didn't think this through thoroughly before setting out.
You might give Aus/Nz/TAZ a visit but I'd recommend wherever you go, get a job there or at least make sure there is a good chance for work. Otherwise you'll end up crawling back to NYC for a bowl of soup in the shelter... with a story to tell.
Seriously?? you moved to Cambodia without a job guarantee and now have no income? Do I understand? Get the fuck out of there. unless you like it.
on a lighter note, I heard Iceland is granting citizenship to men who marry their women. They have too many girls and not enough boys over there... but you'd need a job...

Yes, but I have yet to encounter a "sexpat" if you're caught doing that. You can be prosecuted Cambodian style and deported.

Try South Korea. I know a guy who did this and he was very happy with his decision.

I did think this out thoroughly, hence my thorough knowledge of Visas. When you want to embark on living abroad, You need to examine which Visa is right for you. Cambodia has 2 common Visa's The T for tourism, which god forsake don't get if you plan to stay more than a month. Then there's the E Visa which is a Business Visa which you can extend indefinitely. There are expats from all over, some whom have been here for over 15 years. A lot are retirees. Now on to the Job thing. Cambodia is very third world. There is no Skype, so like Thailand, Lao, Vietnam, and Burma you must apply in person. I came here with 6k,and have been spending it very conservatively. Aussie and NZ sound nice, but again there's Visa hurdles...

South Korea is in turmoil and requires a 4 year degree. I have an associates, but a TEFL/TESOL Certification.

You're kidding right? I can get better stuff at the Pharmacies that require no Rx. Benzo galore, opiate galore and even barbiturates. And no I'm not into crazy downers. Maybe a Benzo for stress or insomnia, but not the other aforementioned substances.

Fine smuggle barbituates then. That could also be lucrative but will put more of a strain on your anus.

You're whacked.... No one in their right mind would do that. Maybe one or two bottles, but not 20-100, plus the sales people at the pharmacies aren't real rPH pharmacists. It's too expensive for the govt in Cambodia to regulate the Pharmaceutical industry. The sales people are cautious about what they sell. No buying tons of narcotics all at once. If someone dies... The batch number on the boxes comes back to them, so they go under.

Personally I would take the pills out of the bottles and double wrap them in a condom, but do as you like.

What about Vietnam. I would have thought that would be the most viable candidate. Or Myanmar.

Myanmar yes, but Vietnam is tricky. You need to go through a company that sells invitation letters. You fly in with this letter and you're good to go. Cambodia doesn't have a postal service like the Western world. You go to the main postal office and pay $12 for a PO box for 1 year, but little letters always get lost. padded envelopes is best or boxes.
