Copelandia Trials

Hey Shroomerites, so I'm finally moving on to the next genre of psilocybe varieties and this time it's the Blue meanie!, yes folks Panaeolus "copelandia" Cyanescens, Printed from a cane feild in Westmoreland Jamaica... here we go!
So I started by hydrating a micro SPECK of spores i could barley see them on the scalpel, for 24hrs in a 3ml syringe they've been sleeping for 2 years, I should've used Agar and tested Isolates but I am lacking a few tools, So I went with the home made spore syringe! I then inoculated some Hpoo /Brf /Verm /Powdered Straw. Everything utilized for this was steam sterilized in my !!!favorite!!! pot, PF Tek style I then hooked up my auto SGFC to my digital timer
And then put my colonizing jars inside on (off mode) to let them finish
After day 25 while investigating for any contamination, it was time to birth and case for (Trial 1)
 .
As for (Trial 2) The cake was crumbled and placed inside FC to recover. After full recovery the perforated plastic Will Be removed from the tray and then cased.
I flicked the chamber on, and i am keeping an eye out for Arial hyphae, advanced primordia and/or contamination. My auto Mist/Fae cycles are scheduled 15 minutes 3 times a day, I think trial 1 might be infected with cobweb possibly My casing was a simple recipe of milled long fiber sphagnum moss, calcium carbonate and Vermiculite... I chose this type of moss for panaeolus due to the fact that copelandia Mycelium likes to overlay casing, often because of nutritional additives in the peat and improper FAE. This non composted peat has no nutritional values. however it retains structure and humidity very well! which is key.

plus Plus VERMICULITE
And that is all folks please leave your thoughts comments and advice below every bit is needed thankyou guys for the moral support, and always! Happy Ascension.

The auto SGFC seems like a bad idea. Passive>active
Jars can be just on a shelf to colonize
Otherwise good luck

Thank you Bodhisatta!, need all the luck I can get, wasn't sure if I needed the cool mist or not because I have such a small FC, RH plateaued 70% alone without the diy Mist. And 100% with aid. I will update pics in a few of Trial 1 and hope you will be able to discern if visible growth is Cobweb or whispy myc

you should find a tight fitting lid without holes in it for steam sterilization.

You should cut that foil so it only covers the are just under the cakes. Perlite works because every piece has a large surface area, allowing lots of evaporation; if you cover the total surface area with foil, you won't get all the evaporation you could.
What do you use to automate FAE?

I shall definitely do so in cutting the foil back, and the Fae is 2 Medical grade airpumps 1 to feed pressure to the ultrasonic and 1 inside the FC wall

your design is based on assumptions that are not true about what mushrooms really want. A tub with holes would suffice and outperform what you put together there I would bet all my money

Lol ok Bodhi you got me, I'll turn off the automation and let the sgfc go without the pumps and cut back the excess foil, will you help me get these pans to fruit ?

Failed horribly, improper sterilization, peroxide not applied to air pump (filter& hoses) improper PC times, Trich contamination underneath sub trials terminated, lesson learned, and for now, it's back to cubensis

Its that crazy fruiting chamber set up dude. If you ditch that stuff and went with simpler , no reason you can't grow pans!
If you produce Clean spawn, and give them lots of fresh air when fruiting, you'll be golden

Yea there was a plethora of factors that messed up my cakes the number 1 was the automation and number 2, I think was the Hpoo that I bought online through Amazon lmaoo, it came in a sterile bag! With a micro porous filter but I waited almost a month before I used it it was humid for the first 2 weeks so I stuck the poo pack in a dissicated bag.. no green!? Or blue or pink or grey orange red or colored mold spotted during the drying ?? So I used it Lol (without it pasteurized) even though the seller stated that it was i should've been more sterile.. next time!!

I definitely agree with the above posters regarding passive fruiting chambers being the way to go, even more so with Pans/Copes - they're extremely finicky when it comes to too much moisture when fruiting; a little to wet or humid and this happens.

When I tried using a shotgun fruiting chamber or something like that I got nothing but overlay the only way around it was to use the Martha Closet Put a couple inches of water in the bottom and just kept it closed most of the time no cool mist humidifier The only water that's needed is what is in your casing later
